Well, my Dad jumped into the body for me while I’m at work. Starting with cleaning up the gaps. Still lots to go, but I am very fortunate to have somebody like him with over 40 years in the body world.

Doing everything start to finish in house is a major blessing.

Rear bumper is well under way and should be complete by the end of the week. Then I’ll move on to the front.

Officially at a full 9 month wait for shocks with nothing in hand yet aside from the coilovers. To say I’m nervous on that topic is an understatement.

Here’s his personal car he wrapped up a few years back. Before and after. Many, many, many award winning cars have left his shop over the years. And I’m absolutely stoked to see what he does with mine.

I know you do a lot of snow wheeling, have you always run kings? how do they hold up to snow/ice and winter road spray/salt?

Ceramic coated they hold up very well. Raw finish not so much.

It’s been a while since the last update. The rest of my shock package finally came in after nearly 10 months. Built both front and rear bumpers and we are pretty deep into the body with the front clip being fully ready for paint. I also decided to add in DMZ engine and trans mounts.

What did your bumper end up weighing? Looks solid yet simple!

I am terrible with updating this. Considering I’ve been driving the truck for 3 weeks now we are way behind. Anyways, the truck was stripped completely for paint. While my dad worked in painting I worked on powder coating all of my parts.

With the cab in paint, final assembly began with some other upgrades and preventative maintenance. New starter, water pump, and DC Power 270 amp alternator.

Here are some shots during the end of final assembly. All in all we estimate somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200 man hours on this build from March 4th when it pulled in for tear down to July 2nd when it backed out of the shop.

Wow- first time I'm seeing your build. Very impressive work and a hell of a job done! Count me in if you ever make frame box kits

Gotta be one of the nicest builds on here. Love the work put in. Can you explain the free bleed bypasses? I’m looking to do those on the rear of my truck but can’t find an answer on the differences between free bleeds and regular bypasses. Specifically the ones from JD as well.
