I might have popped my first power wheelie this morning. Didn't turn off any aids, or put it in Race or Slick mode. Just rode out 2nd gear to about 8k, closed the throttle, then immediately snapped it open. Wheelie control on the BMW only let me get it up about 4-5 inches for like 1 second before it kicked in and brought me back down.

It's intimidating for sure. I was trying to ease into it a bit yesterday on the ride home since the freeway was way more open than usual but just couldn't get it.

I also don't really have much desire to do extended wheelies...more so just like to know that I can lift the front wheel if I want to. Probably better that way since I only ride street for now lol.

Everything I heard about the FZ/MT-07 before I had mine was that they are a wheelie machine. I have always been good about rolling on the throttle smoothly and even when I'm ripping on it a little I had never felt like the front end was going to come up so I had my doubts about what I had heard; then about a month ago leaving my house I decided to goose it in first gear to see what would happen and wow was I wrong, that front tire lifted right up off the ground at least a foot and scared the poop out of me how fast it happened.

It would be fun to try it on a smaller bike like that 110 to get a better handle on it and get a better feel for how to pop the throttle enough to get it coming up but not so quick I feel like it going to send me ass over tea-kettle, or I guess in this case, tea-kettle over ass.

try owning a FZ-09 and a Z125 at the same time, and riding the Z125 first. You need to be WOT through all 4 gears to get up to normal speeds. And then Id switch to the FZ09 to keep up with other riding friends, and Id need to retrain my wrist or put it in rain mode for a bit..

Years back when I worked for a dealership and could "borrow" bikes for the weekend I took home a Suzuki TL1000 and Holy Shit did that thing ever gt my attention! No roll on roll off roll on or clutching required. Just pull out in first gear and start feeding it throttle and that front wheel would just start climbing for the sky. Big V-twin torque at its finest. Honda 1000 Super Hawk was the same way. The only way my FJR1300 will do anything like that is if I turn off the traction control.

Never had the chance to ride one. I'm sure it as a handful though. Ducati 851 Superbike, Triumph Daytona 955i and Speed Triples, Buell S-1 Lightning and M-2 Cyclones all were quick to pull the front wheel with minimal rider assistance.

Same reviews on the XSR700. I only managed to bring the front end up once on it, both times when I got a little too aggressive from a stoplight and gave it too much gas before the clutch was let out. Just a quick pop up, then right back down to the ground.

That said I don't think I ever really gave it enough gas to power wheelie it, though I can certainly see how they could easily pop up with a clutchup. Something like a 110 would probably be much better to learn on. The only reason I was okay attempting any semblance of a wheelie on my current bike is because of all the safeties built in.

Drop bracket lift and booger welds
Is that all throttle only? Start slower, like a walking pace and pop that clutch.

    I'd love a 450 Tenere. I just don't have a need for a bigger bike.

Yeah, it was all throttle. I'm nervous doing clutch ups on the rekluse and burning it up, butttt we'll see. Baby wheelies on the Navi are incredibly easy
