Definitely over the handles. The current stock hold down is narrow, and has a problem sitting flat on top of those handles, so the wider the better, actually. The other issue is the width of this battery is narrower than stock, as you can see from the top down view, the outside outline is standard stock width, but the upper portion that is from the bottom of the terminals up, is the narrower part. I could take some measurements if that would help. Overall top width, and maybe the height from the ledge to the top of the battery (which looks to be just a little shorter than the terminal height)?

The adjustable versions I have will adjust from 6" to 7" width.

Battery width is just under 5.75", what is the thickness of your adjustable piece (with the slot and two holes) along with the height of the screw heads? Or, do you make a narrow width (not skinny to go between battery caps, but narrow battery width) solid plate that would fit the 5.75"?

Basic dimensions on the adjustable wide.

The 6" minimum dimension is the narrowist version I have. You might be able to glue 1/4" thick rubber spacers on the adjustment blocks.

Ok, awesome, so do you have a fixed one that is 6" or is this the only one that works for batteries that wide? I think that 0.41" is perfect for the height.

The 0.41 dimension is at the top of the socket head cap screws.

Yep, that was just to make sure it wasn't going to hit the top part of the battery that is wider than the top.

So do you have a textured black with gloss black text?

Go back and look at the sketch again. I forgot that I upped the thickness of the spacer blocks. There is also a belleville washer under the head of the screw.

I do have the textured black with gloss black TRD. I also have it in a textured black with no TRD.

Ok, measured it, it's roughly 7/8", so looks like it should still be good, just barely! You made me go out in the 105 degrees for that! LOL. Like the textured black without TRD. Send me the details, please!

Wow, in most cases, I expect things to not be as good as the pictures. In this case, I can't believe how nice these are. I initially thought, okay, this is probably a little more than I'd want to pay for this, but haven't been able to find another solution that I felt was secure enough (think about how heavy these batteries are in turns).

Just opened mine, and these are extremely impressive. The finish is nicer than I've seen on a lot of things. Thanks so much for a great product! Cannot wait to install it later today.

[GX460] Perfect! I may at some point try and find some adhesive backed rubber that is 1/8-3/16” thick and tape it to the edges of the adjustable blocks, as you can see there is a bit of a gap. Doesn’t really bother me though, you don’t have to torque the nuts down much to get a decent clamping force on top of the battery. All I had to do was trim about 2” off the rear j hook thread, as that hold down is shorter than the front one.
