We could make a jig from my TC kit, move the spindle pivots forward an inch or so, and make some control arms.

Thinking about selling my RCI rear diff skid.. It needs a repaint, but not deformed or wheeled hard. According to RCI website, it only fits 2nd gens. $275

 

I also found the secret to clearance.. Clearance your truck for the next size up tires, and then go down a tire size. I have so much room compared to when i had 35s. I can back up without rubbing on anything!


Oh, btw, I sold 5x 315/75/16s to a guy in Front Royal for $150. The used tire market isnt what it used to be They looked like good tread too.. I would have used them for another year if I didnt need the clearance for something else

Get yourself the JD kit with some 934 axles and you'll be all set. RCLT is a lot of marketing hype to be honest.

 

The way big Mike speaks to customers/answers newcomer questions makes me cringe harder than thinking about myself in middle school. Every high up engineer I've talked to at a variety of workplaces is always excited to share what they're working on and help other learn. Every reply to a question about RCLT seems to come from a high podium. Marlin makes a cool product, and it needs to exist for future/current products to compete, but the responses to customer questions always seem to rub me the wrong way.

I was ready to buy a new set of spindle gussets after I found out that spindle was bent, when Harry sent me a free replacement.

Not that the customer need to be pampered, but being treated like a human is a big plus

 

Forgot about JD. Do you know anyone running the lower arm pivot kit? Seems like a good bridge between mid and long travel as I could use it now to push my lower mounts forward with my mid setup, and can be reused if I ever go long travel in the future. Since it also doubles as a skid plate, thinking about going ahead and getting it so I can tie it into the front bumper build. Thoughts?

I think it’s a super nice product. The only caveat is I’ve heard it does such a good job if reinforcing and stiffening up the frame that you feel more feedback through the steering wheel while off-road.

There’s also a new stock length LCA coming out that pushes the tire forward, let me see if I can find it.
