    Luckily 1971 was the first year for front disc brakes on the VW Bus, so Kermit was quite forgiving to drive despite having manual steering and manual brakes. I also drove my friend's 1974 Ford F100 almost 13 years ago. That also manual front disc/rear drum and no power steering, and driving that old beast was a chore.
