All I can say is that if your dad ever spent any time in Tacoma, Washington he'd think that Tacoma is a degrading name for the truck.

It would be a little bit like naming a model of car the "Long Beach and Compton" and then saying that it's degrading to call it the "LBC" for short.

    You see what I mean?

I don't like the term "Taco" either, reminds me of Taco Bell where the meat is only 35% beef and the rest is spices.

I don't know what they do use as filler (don't need to know, don't want to know) but I'm pretty sure that other 65% is not all "spices". ;)

I go to a little place where they butcher & marinate the meat on the premises, so I think tacos are awesome. Just like my truck!

I know several Tacomas and have yet to hear one complain about being referred to as a "Taco." Perhaps it would be more politically correct to refer to our trucks as "comas" or a "Coma." No racial connotations can be associated with this term. Of course there are plenty of other negative associations however.
Oh yeah, I forgot. My philosophy lately has been SCREW POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!, before it becomes the death of our great nation. Anyway this thread sucks. Someone please put it out of its misery.

    Long Live ComaWorld!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't mind calling it a taco. For some reason the GF finds it offensive so I like to use the term often to piss her off.
