speaking of wheel bearings, trucks been making some noise. Bought new front wheel bearings and put them in. Still noisy. The rear seems like it’s howling too. Hope it’s not what I think it is

Could be a rear wheel bearing. My 2009 was making a howling noise that progressively got worse. Turns out it was the drivers rear wheel bearing.

About halfway done, cycle time sucks on this side, about 35mins. Came up with a new idea to keep the spindle running too when its not being used. its winch hawse fairlead that I think will be a bit different than everything else on the market., with eventually a shackle mount that interfaces with it.

I was thinking it could be the rear, I’m wondering why the fronts still make noise as bad as they did before, makes me hesitant to do the rears cause they are more of a pain than the fronts.

I've been fighting noise issues with my second gen as well. Already replaced a bad caliper (actually did both) and the ujoints and carrier bearing are gonna get replaced before winter. The ol rubber on that bearing is dry rotted. There's still another intermittent grinding noise in the front I gotta figure out.. :annoyed:

That's the way we do it where I work too since operations never believes in preventative maintenance and won't let us have equipment... :annoyed:

I need to take a picture of a roller tomorrow with a spring loaded hex shaft and see if it’s what yawl use. This one is for a major shipping company near work.

I’m making 2 of these tubes, had 39 minutes left on the last one. I ask my boss to turn the coolant off when it finished cause I left. I told him I’d cut all the slots with one end mill. He text me about an hour later and said the end mill broke and also the coolant tube. I jinxed myself. The coolant tube comes apart, he didn’t know that.

Ahh nothing like a slippery coolant spill. I used to work on boring mills that used this nasty white colored coolant (yous all use your imagination). Stuff would straight up be rank in the summer. And it was Hell to work around since I had to climb in those machines to work on them.

Eh... nobody bothered to say anything about the loud "whoosh" noise every time the operator stepped on a foot pedal. I walked past when it happened and cut the broken airline back and re-fitted it. Apparently it had been like that for almost a year before I got there and nobody had thought it was abnormal.

I'm pretty sure they think the grinding noise is a good thing?
