    All stock, baby!
It depends upon the car; my ‘86 Honda Accord was VERY prone to it, had to hand torque my lug nuts after every vehicle service to avoid it. Worked perfectly. My ‘06 Highlander was less prone, but it would only happen in places like that long downhill out of Yosemite into the Owens Valley if I didn’t downshift.

I don’t think the Tacoma is particularly susceptible to it with the stock alloy rims, as the amount of contact surface with the rotor is pretty high. Still, I hand torque since I’ve gotten used to it and it’s kept me out of trouble.

I know might be stupid question but could washing my truck right after I get home for driving 1/2 hour cause the rotor to warp if I wash my rims too causing the rotor to get wet???

My guess is yes. I did the same, steam came off the rotors, got the shaking steering wheel pulsing brake pedal immediately after.

No. If that were true think what would happen when driving after a rain and hitting water puddles....

Everybody would have warped rotors.

    I agree.

You’d have to have the rotors really hot to warp them. Like a stuck caliper or ridding the brakes for a LONG time.I literally got caught in a storm last week that had me crossing water. I had just gotten off the interstate exit ramp too.
    No problem with my rotors.

Brake repair is not one of those things you pencil in for next year.

Don't wait. Nothing like not being able to stop. OEM pads & rotors, a half day in the driveway if you can swing it. Pay now or pay later. Safety.

Dude don’t even worry about the rotors if you really don’t have time. Go get some cheap pads take your wheel off and pop them in. All you need is the tools to take the wheel off which should be in your truck already and a couple of basic hand tools. They are literally one of the easiest vehicles to change the pads on. It’s not the best way to do it but at least you will be safe and not causing and damage to any of your other brake parts. The whole thing will take you like an hour. If you don’t have one hour and 50 bucks to keep you and others on the road safe maybe you should consider getting a bicycle.

My issue was with a work truck, overloaded, straight off the freeway to wash. Because the work trucks are overloaded, when it's time to replace brakes, the rotors always look like shattered glass. Of course some of the guys drive different than others, brakes 3x a year.
