You mentioned Jeep. I was kind of shocked to see that the Willys, in the WW2 configuration, had the axle on top of the leaves. I just would have thought they'd put it below for better ground clearance.
Bet that if I researched it I would find the reduction in body roll (& maybe even roll-overs) out weighed clearing rocks. Could also be to get the diff tucked in a bit more. ??

Ya, almost all the desert runner trucks that spend their life on the dunes are spring under the axle. Several manufactures make kits for the Tacoma. here is a pic of the Dirt King set up, the lower brace captures the u bolts protecting them. I wonder if the Willy does the same.

That JD fab mount came in clutch. I'm having firewall work done here soon. I may go the JD fab route a little later on, was seriously considering it.

Installed Garmin Mini 2 w/Dongar adapter. Took 5-minutes which included downloading/setting up my account within the Garmin app. I have a 15-min commute to work and on any given day witness 5-10+ people looking down at their phones while driving 60+ mph on the interstate. :goingcrazy:

I was not aware of this panel! How durable does the foam feel, especially when considering something like cooking on it with a coleman stove or similar?

All of the others are flat but still hard plastic so been hesitant to spend the dough.

Pealed the TRDOR stickers off the bed and put in the pro grill. Man, those stickers were a pain in the butt. Took about 3/4s of a bottle of goof off and 4 hours of pealing/wiping off the residue.

If you want the AVS removed i believe silicone spray on a rag then wipe... easy. If you like them thats cool too. I personally prefer the cleaner look but they didn't really bother me either.

    I did
I did this same lift, needed UCAs to get the proper alignment . Go with the skinny tires! Unless you hit a lot of sand, like more sand than pavement.

Do any of these kit suppliers mention the reason to go "spring under"? Curious, because so many other off-roaders are all about lifting the body.

The foam is marine grade, so should hold up really well. As far as cooking on it with a grill I'm not sure, I use a separate table when I cook to keep the truck away from oil etc.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    Parked it in the shade.

What is this, Facebook? People giving random updates instead of pics/mods to their trucks.

Thanks. In looking at the pictures on their website, it looks like a metal plate with the foam attached somehow. How is it attached? Adhesive? If yes do you see much risk in it peeling up?

    Thanks in advance.
