My stock leafs were squeaky also. After a few applications of dry film lube on the pads, they were quiet until they were sagged out.

Appreciate all the suggestions- I’m at the tail end of a camping trip right now, so I’ll try most of these when I get home.

A few more things- the noise is 100% behind/under the cab. Hard to tell on video, but I can tell.

It does this with (or without) any load in the bed or on the hitch. Noise doesn’t really change.

That was my experience for both the rear body mounts and leaf squeaks. The body mounts sounded similar to the leafs but at a higher frequency and at times when the leafs really weren't flexing.

Silicone lube only works on my leafs after flexing the wheel on a curb or ramp to spread the plates, hosing off and spraying silicone liberally. Usually gives me 4-6 months of silence.

Spray them heavy with cosmoline and let it dry. I haven't got any noises from the rear leafs on my tundra after i did this, i did the same on the tacoma...so far no squeaking after more than 2 years.

Sounds too rubbery to be leaves, more like balloons rubbing.

Could your spare tire be loose?

You sure its in the rear? Sounds alot like a front/radiator support body mount bushing. Its a very common problem that makes that same squeak.

Gonna sound crazy, but before you do anything - go and check that your spare tire is tight up against the frame. My '21 developed a squeak and I went crazy until it did it one time when I closed the tailgate. I checked and sure enough the spare hanger had loosened up just enough to cause the tire to move and squeak as I drove.

    Update-
Spare is right to the frame. Any tighter and I’m worried about breaking something lol.

All body/bed mounts are tight to the feel of a ratchet. I’m not gonna crank on them till I get home with my TQ wrench and double check but I’m pretty convinced they’re good. I Will as I said check with a proper torque wrench but none felt loose.

I’m typing this from the beach I’m camping on so life could be worse.

That does not sound like any leaf springs I've ever heard. Did you put airbags possibly on this truck like you suggested in the beginning? I would suggest looking at all of that. I had those things and ripped them right off. If you need airbags you should go with a better leaf back for your towing and capacity needs instead. Just a suggestion

i was just going to suggest this. My leafs squeak like F-ing crazy, I work in a quarry though so dust is always an issue. I don’t think it’s your leafs though, mine are way way way more high pitched than that and not nearly as annoying. My truck just sounds like an old hay wagon going when it gets dirty.

I agree with others that it sounds like rubber and I’d also put my money on your air bags.

One thing you could try when it comes back is deflate your air bags, step into your box and see if it squeaks. My truck squeaks from myself stepping up into my box. If no noise then inflate air bags and repeat although your own weight might not be enough to make those things squeak.

my leaf springs squeak when they get dirty. all it takes is spraying them off with a hose and the noise disappears. they squeaked a lot more often before i sprayed them down with cosmoline.
