This evenings haul, although they actually messed up. Most of the bourbon at the place I shop stays behind a case so I had to ask for all this. I had asked for a 1792 Single barrel NOT the full proof so tomorrow I need to swap that out. I kinda decided to collect all the 1792’s. Once I get the single barrel I’ll have six different expressions plus a full proof store pic. I’ll have to check the website to see what I’m missing now. I know I have a 12yr, a sweet wheat, small batch, full proof, bottled in bond and soon as I exchange that extra full proof I’ll have a single barrel…. Must be a few more out there lol.

 

Lemme know how that 4R bottle code works out. Although honestly I haven't had a bad one yet.

 

Will do. But first I must continue operation “make more room”.

 

Looks like I need a high rye, and a port finish to complete the collection….

 

You guys do you, but I've never been a fan of adding non-whiskey stuff to whiskey unless Im doing a full on cocktail.

No need for cute tricks. Just make me good whiskey.

I thought the standard 4R was ok, maybe a little too sweet. I need to try the single barrel.

 

If you found the standard too sweet, I am not sure the single barrel is going to be your jam.

I love it, but it's probably the sweetest bourbon I like. It's sweeter than the wheated bourbons I like, which is not immediately intuitive but is what it is.

Granted, each barrel is different, but that has been *the* hallmark of 4R SiB for me.

 

Not a fan of Angel’s Envy? It’s one that’s finished in port barrels. I enjoy it. Convinced me to pour one tonight.

Perhaps they should've tried "Barely Legal Barton". That line of attack has worked out well for other...ahem...'industries'.

 

I finally tried in last night neat and didn’t enjoy it. I’m told it opens up with ice or water.

 

I got a very 'diluted BT' flavor out of it.
