Suddenly the auto unlock will not work when I throw it in park..

I'm using the RAV4 canbus and did not make any changes.

Anyone having this issue? How do you factory reset the joying?

Looks like I've lost all canbus vehicle settings including steering wheel controls. Canbus vehicle did not change, although there was a spontaneous reboot the other week.

Joying does have an updated firmware (seems like they come out once a year?) And I'll be installing that very soon.

Does anyone know if there is a Joying specific thread on TW?

This is a good thread but wondering if there's a more active one. I think this thread has well served it's purpose now.

That is for 2nd gens and I am not sure they use the same HU and canbus settings, update etc.

I did just the update firmware on the head unit but it did not fix the unlocking when shift into Park. The truck stays locked. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Sw3r8ZDgfTBW5SNTk9WkpQl_k95G1VRF/view?usp=sharing

The update did however give Android Auto the split screen which is nice to see! It gives a "70/30" view . Alsothe Day/night mode is fixed when switching to Parking/headlights. There may be some AA updates/fixes that have been applied also. I

I had posted a question about the optical output on the newer joying unit for camry/tacoma. I now have it installed running optical out into a dsp and from I can tell the signal is very good. I haven't had a chance to measure electrically but I can say that at volume 36/36 there is absolutely no noise (hissing) at all. I am running at 34/36 volume to the dsp and controlling the master volume with a remote control knob (helix conductor) although the volume control on the h/u adjusts volume normally as well. This is a nice set up from what I can tell so far and basically the only reason I went with android. There a very few head units that offer an optical output from mainstream aftermarket brands, which I find surprising.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue...

For a split second, the screen will go either completely blank OR it will go blank but have yellow reverse tracker lines. While blank (or blank with yellow lane lines), audio pauses, then all back to normal. Its almost like it thinks I am shifting into reverse though it will do it while just cruising or even parked, engine off.

This is non-jbl 6mt with android 10 9" screen. It does it in wireless carplay mode as well as just scrolling through menus which makes me think it isn't a phone issue. Its a real fast glitch but it happens regularly enough that it is concerning.

    Is anybody else experiencing this?

I can't say I'm experiencing the same issues since I'm using android auto. But I will say this. Ever since the latest Android update on my phone (last week) AA has become extremely unstable. I made sure all apps on the head unit are updated, too. It's become unbearable and have been considering making the switch to an iPhone. Keep us posted if your situation gets worse. I have since quit using AA and have been hot spotting my phone for my HU to connect to.

On another note, what DSP are you using? I'm considering a Hertz unit. Just curious what others are successfully using with the optical output from the HU.

still messing with the tuning. I used my metra jumper harness so no rca. So far so good.

did figure out I failed to plug in the radio plug so it’s going to need to come back out soon. Oh well.

Did you use the oem radio brackets? At least it's easy to take out.

sure did. Only thing that’s a pain is the expedition essentials tpam mount on top. Those screws are a pita. The rest is pretty easy

Thanks for the info. It did it again today! I'm thinking I must have a loose connection or maybe it has something to do with the anytime camera.

Im using a helix m six dsp. One reason that I went with that is that there is a ton of info on diymobileadio about how to use the software. I suppose JL or audio control would have more but the helix is pretty nice.

Thanks for the note about Helix. I remember seeing a feature from Dean and Fernando about the Helix mini. I'm thinking the mini mk2 could fit my needs! I'll do some research.

Good luck with the carplay glitches. I'll connect my wife's or my son's iPhone and see how well carplay works on my HU. I haven't had an iPhone since the 5 so at least it's not totally foreign to me. They've been pestering me to "come back" for years!

BTW, I put 3 - 4k miles on my Taco each month. So when things don't work as they should it gets old REAL quick.

ok. so im kinda pissed about not having independent control of the sub and knowing its right there. is running RCAs really worth it for this headhunit? or should I just stick with the Metra jumper harness and control the bass with the EQ and bass control knob, I have it running speaker level inputs to my amp?

I guess this answers my question. I do have an LC7i from when I ran my set up a different way maybe that will have to happen again down the line. time to buy more metra plugs and speedwire

I was considering a similar route a while ago, but with an Lc6i. Now I'm fully convinced I need to take advantage of the optical output and integrate a DSP.

Can anyone help me find the firmware update for the 9” JY-TQ160N4G head unit? I can’t find it on the joying website after searching the page.

    Thanks in advance!

See link below. This is what they sent me when I had to reach out to them after not being able to figure it out on their website either.
