    Enough for now
@TWTaco got my truck tuned with the sport setting and I can say after about 700 miles since, this is the best my truck has felt driving both highway, mountain roads, and city driving. I’ve since switched back to Regular 87 octane fuel and my 80 mile round trip daily commute is way more manageable. I feel safer on the highway accelerating, even up hill. Thanks again Dave and I look forward to future versions. The KDMax team are absolute professionals!

Getting tuned by an authorized tuner the pricing may vary do to location or travel.
Contact your local tuner for pricing. Minimum pricing is $400.
Some tuners offer group discounts be sure to ask.

For those manual 3rd Gen folks out there!

I wanted to report on the tune for built-out 3rd gen manuals with 5.29 gearing. I finally got my truck back from the shop after the regear with Nitro gears and immediately switched to the gearing-specific version of the Pro+ XT tune with the sport throttle. If y'all have customers with a really heavy truck or a bit heavier with bigger tires that are manuals, 5.29s rearing with the tune makes the truck a completely different drive for the better. It now has so much more torque and the gears plus the tune gets rid of all the sluggish feelings! I can finally use 6th gear again on the freeway at 2500rpm @ 65mph on the flats and even use 6th on light-moderate uphills. There is a noticeable increase in gas mileage from the stock gearing, it looks to be about 2.5 mpg, even with the none gearing-specific tuning but it got even better after the appropriate tune. I am now running about 15mpg if I keep the RPMs around 2500 with a 6500lbs truck.

Anyone else lose MPG with kdmax pro xt ? I’m running 265/75r16 with 2” strut spacer lift in the front. I was getting 17.2mpg before the tune and now I’m averaging 15.8-16mpg with sport throttle but my driving habits have stayed the same. Brand new engine air filter and just got an oil change not too long ago.

I have not received any customer reports of that but I also do not think I have anyone running 265s and the sport throttle cause it's quite potent. Have you run it for 1-2 tanks so far?

On my 3rd tank. Should I downgrade to the normal or lite throttle setting?

I would drop to Normal on the throttle. You may be using the pedal a little more then you think on Sport. If you want a little more power hit the ECT button for Sport throttle.

I would just state that the higher throttle setting does allow engine revs much easier. If you were to drive it when stock with a lighter foot vs. heavier that would translate to a loss of mpg along the way. That said, some owners like the normal or sport throttle sensitivity so like you it's a choice. If your truck is not heavy I would consider the normal or lite throttle but then (assuming it's an automatic) the ECT button will still have the sport-like throttle when pushed. You kinda get that daily driver then more aggressive response when you want that way.

I am not suggesting you change for the sake of changing but if mpg is a factor for you a light truck with 265s might yield better results and still have the getup and go you want on a lower throttle. It only means you have to depress the accel pedal a bit more.

I would. Go from Sport to Normal.
From reports and from my experience, Normal gets the best MPGs and is still pretty peppy to drive.

Im on pro XT also. This is coming from a guy that runs premium fuel . I'm getting 20mpg on 315/75/16s ,stock gears , and 5400 + lbs . Now I drive for the most part conservatively. If and if I get a wild hair up my ass or someone pisses me off yeah my truck can get 15mpg or less . Mobbin. I remember when my truck was stock and getting 145mi easy on a 1/4 tank . It's took so much money and 4yrs of mods and tuning and I'm back to 145mi a 1/4 tank and almost 240mi a half tank . Here's some of my fuel logs . Most recent miles per tank was best . I'm sure I could of squeezed 400 mi out of that tank. My miles to empty was zero when I pulled into my town . Screenshot_20220727-162438_Fuelly App.jpg
