In other news, I still have the puppy. Looks like he's found his forever home. Only thing is, I thought he was a puppy but it turns out he just looks innocent, cute, and cuddly when he's in his crate. Outside of the crate, what I thought was a puppy is actually a hellbeast, a ball of pure chaos with sharp claws and sharper teeth (which are getting sharper by the day...he made pretty good progress chewing my house mate's dog's face off before we noticed and intervened, not that she seems to care, she still tries to tussle with him every time she gets a chance).

He's a black hole for my attention and if I don't devote every scrap of it to him, he cheerfully chews up everything he can or barks shrilly at me until I play with him. It seems I forgot just how much trouble having a puppy is, lol. Still love the little guy. He's now a little bit taller than the other dog and he hit 40lbs this week at only 5 or 6 months old.

HAHA yes i bet it does. I was considering just taking a trip to FT Lauderdale (2hrs away). They have a great truck shop there that mounted my tires and aligned it very nicely

 

Ordered my .458 SOCOM AP assembled Upper today. AP was having a 15% off sale and it was finally back in stock so I couldn't pass it up. So far I have the assembled AP lower, the bolt carrier (no bolt as yet), and the upper is on it's way. Still need the barrel and bolt (I think I'm going with Faxon, although the 14/16 Tromix--14" barrel with a muzzle brake pinned and welded to it for the legal 16" is still attractive), the charging handle, the gas block and tube, the butt stock, the handgard, and barrel nut--oh and the muzzle brake/compensator if I don't go with the Tromix barrel. One part at a time, but I'm getting there, lol.

And I have a new hat...

 

I'm going out to Citrus Saturday even if just by myself though I have at least one friend supposed to be meeting me there Saturday morning. I may even head out Friday night and camp, I checked and it's open.

Still nailing down the details though.

I have CB, I'll probably be on CH16 unless it's busy as it's the "default offroad channel" (4x4=16) if so I'll jump to 17 or 18.

Still haven't prioritized a UHF VHF GRMS HAM or whatever.

I really should get a cheap Beofong handheld and pirate radio or whatever.

Got space for 1 rider if you don't have a 4WD or don't want to pinstripe your pavement princess but still want to ride trails.

I'm still leaning towards camping Friday night and doing a night ride; I'll know for sure by Thursday afternoon if I'll be there Friday.

I'll definitely be there Saturday morning even if I'll be wheeling alone.

Anyone have a preference on time to meet Saturday?

 

A 4WD? For Citrus? You're so funny!

 

I know I know, Florida doesn't have much in the way of interesting dirt. Hell when I went to Hardrock a 2WD with E locker guy was hanging with us there, only needed a little assistance in a few spots.

My buddy is only 2WD and true track clunker locked never been out and is afraid to go alone and get stuck, everyone is at a different skill and confidence level so putting it out there in the off chance it makes someone hesitant more interested.

 

Copy. Wish I could go, but even if the OG4's trail shoes weren't buried under a room full of Heep parts, I have to work.

 

It's odd being in the no pinstripe pavement princess crew after being on team drive through anything for so long. I guess the new truck is just too new still.

Maybe this winter we'll finish up the swap on the old runner.

 

That being said, how bad is the pinstripe potential at Citrus?

 

I click it into 4 once or twice out there, but usually the rear locker is plenty.

 

Most of the trails are pretty wide open. At Citrus you kind of choose to get striped or stuck.
