Depends on what trails you run and if they've been maintained recently or not.

But overall nothing that won't buff out unless you're more or less trying to stripe it up.

Yeah, but that was before the Forestry Service went all "No fun shall be had" and blocked off all the good spots. There might be some mud out there that requires 4WD, but who wants to play in that? Haha, damn, have I changed since I joined TW. That and the OG4 is just too nice to subject to mud.

Depends on the trail. I haven't been out there since Covid so I couldn't honestly tell you what to expect from what trail ATM, but usually pin striping can be pretty minimal depending on how careful you are and how fast you're going. I like to do the speed limit (30 MPH) in between fun spots, which can seem pretty sketchy on the tighter trails and doesn't leave you a lot of time to react to a bush hanging out into the trail or a small tree limb hanging low over the trail, but if you drive at Jeep speed (4Lo as soon as your tires are off the pavement and about 5 MPH on the trails), you can pretty much avoid most of the pin striping dangers.

 

Damn didn't realize they cracked down on Citrus, any other recommendations?

Was also considering just getting lost in Ocala but most if those trails are nothing but meandering sugar sand.

What's around that might have some kind of obstacles other than Hardrock OHV?

 

I don't know for sure how much they blocked off. I have heard that they have the first spot on trail 14 blocked off and maybe the second one as well. Not sure. There might still be some spots you can have fun with on trail 11 on the south side of Stage Coach and possibly the spot near the 11 and 20 intersection. Like I said though, it's been long enough since I've been out there that it could be an entirely different place than it was last time I saw it. At the very least you can have a nice relaxing trail ride in the woods, which sometimes can be just as good.

Maybe someone else has some more up to date intel?

I know, except for a few odds and ends all the money is spent.

Dunno if you saw my post whenever ago that it was but remember pulling my dumb ass out of the swamp in Richloam with the blue 80's 4Runner?

I replaced my carpet about a year ago and the factory one still had condensation in it from that and silt in most places on the cab floor that I found when totally gutted for Dyna mat treatment.

Went to the factory vinyl flooring and peeled the jute off the back, humidity in the cab dropped considerably I was honestly surprised thought I had everything dried and cleaned out.

Fortunately no mold was found anywhere.

 

Hey, give the man a break. Engine swaps are complicated with all the computers and wiring and shite. It's not simple like reengineering you whole suspension for a solid front axle and three linking the front. That's just cutting some shite off and welding a few tubes and brackets on, and Bam! Bob's your uncle.

That’s when you just fork over the money to the companies that custom make harnesses. Those are definitely complicated and beyond my knowledge at the moment

 

I have the conversion harness. I really have no excuse except for lack of motivation. That, and getting the Tacoma how I want it has occupied my car guy interests.

We'll set something up this fall/early winter. Beer and food will be supplied of course.

 

I already have plans for the weekend, I think once it starts cooling off Ill plan a camping/riding trip. You reach out on facebook TW doesn't get much love nowadays

Hey Lee, can you do me a huge quick favor?

I'm working on a 1997 T4R Limited trim that was brought to my Uncle to fix after someone ripped out the plugs on the auto transmission during a botched swap about to solder on a new pigtail but there was no remnant of jacket to identify which wire goes where into the plug.

Can you slip under the OG4 and tell me which wires go where on this plug?

It's on the drivers side near the back after what I think is the shift solenoids.

 

I'll take a look in the morning. Dunno if I'll be able to see it though with the center diff T-case, or if it's even there on an ought-one.

 

No worries I posted a thread in the first gen section and someone with the electric wiring diagram chimed in with the answer, I certainly appreciate it though thanks!

 

I decided not to camp out citrus it was too damn hot and had some other stuff going on yesterday, my buddy is dragging behind but I'll be at the campsite trail head around 10, planning on hitting dirt by 11 if anyone is coming.

 

Somehow I keep forgetting I don't own a boat.
