Synthetic oil or not?

Need to do first oil change for me since purchase. What are folks using for 3rd gens, synthetic or regular?

 

All 0w20 is synthetic. So all 3rd gens use it by default.

Pennzoil has a deal where you buy two 5 qts and they send you a $25 gift card. Basically, half off!

 

I buy Toyota 0W-20 full syn at the dealer for a fair price.

 

Toyota says full synthetic... I see no reason to deviate from Toyotas recommendations.

 

This is what I did until my closest dealer stopped carrying bottled oil.

 

Just have to ask.

I ran into that at my dealer as well, the parts manager said they had to order a pallet at a time, the shop uses bulk oil so they didn't have much volume in the quarts.

He offered to get me some from another dealer in their group if I didn't mind waiting a day or two, he got me 2 cases the next day, no problem, no extra charge.

 

I have a few dealers within driving distance. I think I'm just going to try a different one.

 

I use 0w20 mineral oil. My truck is sooo happy.

 

You guys get extra virgin or?
