Received my core charge back from the UCA manufacturer. Although I wasn’t psyched about having to swap them out and get an alignment because of a two year old defective part, they had amazing customer service, and got the new ones out to me asap.

New lower control arms are still about 5 weeks out. Might just wait until those come to do my wheel bearings; take care of everything at once.

I am pretty sure the uca play contributed heavily to my shitty tire wear. I also think the bearings are making an impact. To make sure they dont get any worse, Im going to pull the km3s off and put the stock wheels/tires back on until I get to the bearings and lower control arms. After that Ill run the km3s to the ground. I really want to jump to 285/75 and go back to the wildpeak at3ws.

 

All the rain yesterday missed us

 

Did a power steering pump on a car and had to go home on lunch and change my shirt and wash my arms up to the armpits. It had to be leaking for a good year.

 

I know exactly how you feel. My rack pissed all over me when I took off one of the boots. Shirt in the trash and stain in the driveway.

Home relaxing. My fingernails are still filthy from the power steering pump/return line job I did today.
It'll probably be a couple day before they are clean. I was wearing gloves but with the tight spots they would constantly rip so I left them off.

On a side note, got gas today after I saw the light come on. Checked the mileage and I went 297 miles on a tank.

Man I forgot how beautiful Vermont is, did a turn and burn after work to help a buddy with some moving stuff, but kinda wished I lived there at least for the summer!

nah - summer in VT lasts 1, maybe 2 weeks. spring for a month, summer for 2 weeks, fall for 2 months, the rest is degrees of winter.

 

You forgot mud season

 

It is really damn pretty up there. And honestly summer isn't the only good season in my opinion, I've now been there in September, November, January, April and May and they've all been good. Greenest place I've ever been to--the green rolling hills just don't quit. Plus the vibe is rural and seclulded--I love how they restrict signage, even driving through the bigger "cities" feels like you're in the country. First time I went up there I figured I might take a spin on Zillow and see what the houses around Stowe cost, thinking they'd be cheap. Nope. Basically same as Napa and Tahoe. Plus, there don't seem to be many jobs to be had up there, unless you can work remotely etc.

The border crossings up there are pretty smooth too in my experience. The Quebec border agents are definitely more strict than the ones out west, but the ones along the Vermont crossings are fairly friendly and speak good English. I asked last time I went to Montreal why it is that they are so serious at the borders in the east and so relaxed out west (I had a guy just wave me through with a donut in his hand at the Carney, Alberta crossing last year). The Quebec border guy answered that they thought the Burlington area was high risk because of drug trafficking and other crime groups that run out of there. I think of Burlington as like a quiet little hipster town with small batch cheese makers and Bernie Sanders, but maybe it's a criminal hotbed that I'm not aware of yet.

Maybe it's just me, but enjoying the nice breeze this evening in New Haven--weather has been real nice last couple days.

Is it just me or do you seem to have more free time this dry summer since you're not being a lawnmower jockey? Last year was so wet I was on the twice a week plan...this summer...pfft...I think I mowed a couple weeks ago.

The two lawns that I cut every other week, I skipped last week and cut yesterday since I'm off to Portugal tomorrow for a couple of weeks.

One barely grew, and the other only grew a little bit. Definitely not "mowing weather" lately. The heat and lack of rain is killing it.
