1st Gen Tacoma Top Speed

Last night I was “drag racing” and I seemed to have hit a wall in power when I got to 97mph. I couldn’t go any faster. Is this the speed limiter or just can my truck not go any faster?

 

It should be electronically limited to 105 mph. It's just hard to push a brick through the air at that speed and gain those last few mphs... not to mention whatever modifications you've done which might be further limiting, or general health of an 18-year-old engine.

 

Probably electronically limited to about 100-110mph...

97? Consider yourself lucky. If drove out the back end of a C5A at 30k', I still couldn't activate the Flux Capacitor.

You need NOS, wait no, you need two bottle and you need them by tonight. Don't forget to tighten to floorboards over 100 mph.

 

Don't let this man's question distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.
