I have noticed that there is water, not a lot but enough to cause concern on the passenger side front mat. Any ideas? It's a 18 Tacoma V6 SR5.

    Thanks

I’ve had that happen before and it was condensation not a drain plug issue. Read somewhere to turn A/C off a few minutes before arriving home or destination and letting the fan blow outside air through the air box. No issues when I do that.

    It's in the manual.

    ■Ventilation and air conditioning odors
●To let fresh air in, set the air conditioning system to the outside air mode.
●During use, various odors from inside and outside the vehicle may enter into and accumulate in the air conditioning system. This may then cause odor to be emitted from the vents.
●To reduce potential odors from occurring:
    • It is recommended that the air conditioning system be set to outside air mode prior to turning the vehicle off.
    • The start timing of the blower may be delayed for a short period of time immediately after the air conditioning system is started in automatic mode.

i have the same issue but my drain line was all clear. it appears to be leaking from a seam in the bottom of the evaporator housing. seems to happen the most when it's very hot and humid out and i'm running the a/c on high with recirculate on. the plastic in that area gets ICE cold so I think it may be condensation from the evaporator coils. maybe they are freezing over?

May be helpful but I wrote up a thread regarding my experience with a similar issue.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/leaking-evaporator-box-thread.689623/

Ultimately it was the plastic box that houses the evaporator. My truck was still under warranty at the time so the dealer replaced it. Does this happen to you after running the AC for a while? Maybe more than an hour?

Mine was definitely not an AC drain issue like some may brush off. Even the tech confirmed that the drain was not clogged before they found the actual issue.

yea, it happens in hot and humid weather especially when it's on recirculate for a while. drain is all clear and it's definitely the plastic box that's leaking. seems like a good portion of tacomas also leak from the same area. i wonder if it needs more refrigerant and it's causing the evaporator coils to ice over. who knows but the area that has a tiny leak feels ice cold.

i cut up a plastic orange juice container and made a catch-can to collect the water drips until i can get the dealership to look at it on Monday. it's only a couple drops of water but that can lead to mold in the future so I want it fixed.

I blew some sir in the line and it stated dripping as it was supposed to, that might have done the trick.

    Thanks you all

That’s an interesting post, seems to me a leaky seam in the evaporator box means water has to be accumulating in the box. Which could lead to a musty smell and hence the recommendation in the manual (as quoted on a post above) to run outside air prior to shutting the truck off. I do that but have A/C off and run warmer outside air to evaporate any water in the box faster. In any case that seems to do the trick haven’t seen any leaking this summer.

It looks as though the hose wasn't the problem, still water on passenger mat. Will have it looked at when I'm back home

Me too! Mine got so wet on a 5 hour drive Tuesday I had to take it apart..... I have already expressed my disappointment and let them know that there will be a hell raising the likes that they have not experienced if the problem is not fixed with new carpet and liner. We will see how it goes.... I'm in South Ga. Very hot and humid. There is black mold in the liner.....[/QUOTE]

just got off the phone with the service advisor. he confirmed that the evaporator/heater box is leaking from the seam due to condensation. they said they applied a sealant and now they are just running the truck for a while to see if it still leaks. guess i will know soon if it worked.
