I also picked up a new toy… with all the trails literally at my door step, it just seemed right. Should be fun for hauling across the desert

started on a roof today. Will finish bead rolling and sanding it tomorrow. CF8FBC19-8E03-44F6-BAF2-CC234A06A62E.jpg7E95F9FE-D593-4713-A03B-94C27A6FFAD1.jpg6683D33B-C362-4520-AFB9-DD4EB0E403FC.jpg933D7E2C-27DD-474A-81C9-7C99344AC2B8.jpg

No hahah fhis won’t replace the crawler. It’s cool and all but they aren’t meant for rock crawling. With some much desert and trails literally minutes from the front door, this is something else to play around on and spend all my money on haha

Sweet! I just sold me RZR. If you don’t have to trailer them around it’s the only way to go from your house! Go rip, they don’t break, come home, easy! So much space up there too!

Yeah if I had to trailer it, it would be really hard to justify. It’s fun going for s quick ride for an hour and coming back and having dinner and not having to load/unload etc. just gotta park it in the driveway. It definitely won’t replace the Tacoma as it does have its limits but man is it fast in the desert

Almost have everything for the new trans and transfer case. Torque converter should be here this week. Test fitted it all together and it should work.

got the old Toyota cases out and have the bell housing bolts left to get the trans out. Hopefully it all works together

Old transfer case and trans is out. Found out the adapter plate has the dowels pushed in the wrong side. Afraid to bend the plate pushing them out as company said they used heat to get them in so they are overnighting a new one Wednesday. Sucks but is what it is. Got the cnc flex plate and custom torque converter back as well. Everything’s coming together.

Couple days of struggling, adapter plate being wrong, and some casting on the trans hitting the motor not allowing it to sit flush had us stumped for two days. But the transmission and atlas are in.

Had to cut the crossover exhaust. Not really sure what to do with it as I can’t get the flanges off because the bolts keep breaking. Plan is to run it down and under the trans and connect in the passenger side.

got the atlas cross brace tacd together and still need to make the super complicated transmission mount but need to order the shifters to get that made. Floor needs some cutting and then some filler plates. It’s a start though and not much info on a 5vz/3.4 to th350 out there. Nothing ground breaking but something different.

Still think the torque converter is wrong as it won’t pull out of the trans to the flex plate like it should but getting that sorted

Got the easy part of the transmission mount done. Now just to squeeze it over the front output and between the shifters. Then onto patching the floorE57D5B19-7CFE-47F3-9398-36C6EDDD557C.jpg83A13710-1CC1-4DD1-9CF1-183EA8C4CA8C.jpg2B467257-B75D-4A1F-9180-80B8233D4139.jpgAE30F949-C9B1-40E9-9255-AAB4E4437979.jpg

Transmission crossmember welded and got the flanges on. Need to trim and cap the ends. Exhaust is probably half done. Everything should be ordered and on its way. Getting closer 6C8B3821-812F-4961-9F45-382D69ACCB56.jpg

Fuck, i prob need to do that floor cut. Looks so much more level and proper. Do you have a digital angle finder laying around? If so, think you could throw it on your tranny pan or bottom of t case and let me know what the angle is??

Dude, love the xmember. Well thought out. I like that you can take it out w case. That's super nice! Looks great!

Yeah what angle you looking for? I’ll zero it to the frame and can get whatever you need.

the cut is probably bigger than needed but last time I made the cut to small and was a pain anytime I had to do anything.

Everything should be welded or 90% at least. Shifters came in today. We got a ton of rain so time got cut short to chase leaks and keep the yard from flooding.

welder was acting up on the one weld. May have had some grinding dust in the joint and welder kept popping… sucks when it’s an easy joint and should have been a clean long weld

If the frame is semi level I just wanted to see what the angle your trans pan was tilted back at. Mine is a lot. Just wanted to see how much the floor cut improved that.

    Property looks awesome!
