Why do so many Tacoma owners drive with their lights on during the day?

What I wanna know is why so many people think fog lights are auxiliary headlights?
To those of you who run them 24/7.....why?

Driving with headlights on all time should burn them out faster. Then you can tell your significant other you have to spend money to upgrade to LED.

I'm OK with just running stock amber DRL, in the daytime to bump up my visibility. Around here, I'm worried about woman drivers, distracted drivers, dope fiends and Angry Big Truck guy.
Will be acquiring a dashcam pretty soon. The Tacoma has 10x the visibility to others, than my old 90's Ford Ranger. I added 3M DOT reflective red stickers to the rear bumper, too.

My strategy is full lights in the dark. Full lights in the rain. My taco is stock with the Toyota led highs, lows, and fogs. I run with my lows and fogs.

The fogs practically point straight down. They disperse the light just in front of the truck, and the ditches. Therefore they are helpful for turns.

My lights are set to auto, but in the morning with all of the idiots on the road, many times I flip the switch to on for the headlights, markers, etc. With so many distracted drivers, I want to be lit up like a Christmas tree at daybreak on into 9:30am.

Since my truck is stock, my cutlines are low so running with low beams and fogs is not annoying to oncoming drivers. I cannot say the same for all of the asshats that are lifted.

i leave the auto/lights on out of habit and also to avoid being the dude with no tail lights on during night time. you get used to those DRL when you drive from daylight into night and can see fine if you have decent eyesight with those already bright LED lights into nighttime and forget to turn on the actual lights.

i lived in nashville for 6 years and noticed that the people in the south (i drove in KY/AL/LA/FL/GA/SC a lot too) hate using turn signals. i grew up in RI/MA so i'm a typical masshole aggressive driver but did notice how we (north easterners) are aggressive but will use turn signals showing our intentions.

i did learn how to enjoy driving slow in the south. because people don't get angry when you drive near speed limit in right lane. but alas the second i hit the eastern seaboard/i95 i cant avoid reverting to my masshole aggressive driving no matter how hard i try driving slow because the tendency is in the north east to just drive like a school of fish where all the lanes are going 75mph in a 55mph speed limit because they can.

Not in Florida. At least on the gulf coast, every red light is a 0-60 run.

They forget to turn them off at night?

Actually driving with the lights on during the day reduces accidents. I remember at some point I think the Corollas just turned on regardless.
