Ok, not really, but I’m thinking about some other front bumper/ grille/ protection device/ whatever.

What do you recommend? My truck is a single cab and most of the add on stuff just looks odd on a single cab.

I would spend any extra money on that little dog and call it a day. The truck looks fine as is.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Unfortunately not a lot you can do. If you add a plate bumper you should fare better against the strike but that might put enough of the shock back into your frame to total the truck. On the other hand, lighter options like a brush guard typically fold and enhance the damage.

I’ve got a zero deductible for animal strikes so it’s not really that big of a deal. Just frustrating and annoying having to deal with getting it fixed.

    Gratuitous dog pic

That damage you got looks like the deer hit the side of the fender not the front, so you think a grill guard would help?

You are correct. Bambi jumped out of the corn and hit the side of my truck.

Maybe next time he will jump out sooner and hit the front.

Maybe look into some sliders as well but honestly I wouldn’t bother, your truck looks to nice to put a grill guard on maybe a bull bar might look nice but that won’t help with deer damage. Those guards can cause more damage than good

You can replace the fender or try to pop the dent out for cheap. And decide to run with or without flares if the left front one struggles to stay on. It might benefit from new clips; the clips wear out and break over time naturally. They’re dry brittle old plastic.

In Australia they put a bar there that connects the slider to the bumper, to protect the fender

with that amount of steel weight and your engine being 4cyl you’d probably need a regear after that

steel bumper would be fine. The problem is paying for it. I usually let bad drivers do that for me like when I got rear ended. Shoutout SUV driver at a red light, thanks for the rear bumper
But so far nobody has been kind enough to smack into the front of my truck while it’s been parked
