Can I go to that meeting? lol! Me being self employed, I would encourage people to do the same. Maybe I could get a mass walk out! There are a lot of things in the World we can’t control. But when you work for yourself, and have control over that it is priceless no matter what your income is. My free time is what is most valuable to me, let’s me pick and choose when I get to ride dirt bikes, build legos…or argue with knuckleheads about nothing on the interwebs… :)

And your Taco carries the same amount of groceries as a $21,000 Maverick or Santa Cruz but you aren't driving those either. ;)

Would it be the same price to convert a taco to ev as the purchase price of a Rivian? Maybe just swap a Prius into it?

Even ignoring that it's an entirely different body design (body on frame vs unibody) with an entirely different drive train and electronics, a Prius does 0-60 in in 9.6 seconds vs an R1Ts 3 even and could tow 1,600 vs 11,000. You'd probably spend as much money making it happen -- if you even could -- and end up with a far, far worse car.

Ev's are great second cars, I couldnt own one as a primary because i need my vehicle to be flexible enough to not plan around charging stations and not take long stops to charge up. At the end of the day i am my vehicles limiting factor not the vehicle.

    the best vehicles typically are...

high horsepower go fast or low geared crawler, the best ones are not always the greatest

If I could figure out how to charge it while dispersed camping, it could work. Or just bite the bullet and stay at one of those gawd awful campgrounds.

Guess you could do trailer with a solar array…of course towing kills the range. Bit of catch 22 currently.

Like the EV tech, just not there yet for me.

You don’t buy an EV for towing

I should. Anyone want to fund my campaign? We are going to start by localizing the economy, with county wide dollar in an attempt to create incentives to help the people that work in a place they can’t afford to live, yet are essential worker.

Depends how far out you dispersed camp. People do it all the time. They charge at whatever the nearest location to the land is. I don't usually dispersed camp 100+ miles deep which is what it would take to be a concern.

I was including the round trip. EPA range is 314 miles. I figure you camp 100 miles into BLM land, 100 miles back out, leaves you 57 (114/2) miles to find a charger near the enrance.
