You MF's act like someone is coming after your guns just because Gm had the audacity to introduced a freshened up truck. LOL... AND I HAVE AND LOVE GUNS!

WRONG! GM had financial hardship becuase of the tired UAW deal where they had and paid 3 times the amount of retired employees through the union then they employed. I know, my father in law is one of them!

Yeah might as well get a fullsize. Get a fullsize 4dr with a 8' bed. Midsize trucks can look good with the short bed and crew cab. Most people build upon that configuration. Pros, Raptors, Tremors AT4s ZR2s, Rebels, Power Wagon, TRX. 4dr short bed is the only configuration available.

They are more of a Ute, than a Truck at that point. Utilities are more popular than trucks.
That's because manufacturers build more utes than trucks.

Lightning, R1T, and the NFT of electric trucks the Cyber Truck are all Utes.

At the end of the day. It's just another option and a pretty good one. For so many to be so triggered by this is well, sad!

That's rich coming from the guy who said "GM paid everything back." (lollol)
GM lost almost half its revenues during the recession. Other companies didn't lose that much and didn't go bankrupt.

6' vs 5' are both small boxes. I've never found the extra foot (I have a 5' and a 6') to be that much more useful. To me it's inconsequential. They both carry 8' material the same. I guess I can throw and extra bin in my 6' bed.

A 6' full cab would be too long for me. An access cab doesn't have enough interior.

Everyone has preferences. The markets have shown that 6' access cabs aren't what people are buying. Cool. That Toyota still offers a 6' double cab, at least its an option, but for most buyers it doesn't matter.

The Tacoma is absolutely not perfect, and needs more power under the hood. The new GM 2.7L engine looks very promising, and will likely out perform the power plant in the next gen Tacoma. The new Colorado interior looks awesome. Almost all of us hope it is a great new truck and results in Toyota having to up their game. I think some of the folks on this forum are genuinely excited to see the new Colorado/Canyon, just offended by your comments trying to justify some of GM’s inconsiderate (to potential truck buyers) decisions such as only offering a single double cab short bed configuration.

you really need to stop…this isn’t going to end well for you. Technically, GM paid back 100% of it’s obligations (just as I stated) You definitely have zero understanding how corporate bankruptcy works.

And the US lost $11 billion in the sale of GM assets. That will never be repaid because it wasn't an "obligation", it was a bailout.

Why is this thread about bailouts and two year old news articles?

If that affects your reasoning for purchasing a Chev or not, cool, but it doesn't have much to do with this truck.

Which is wrong because they never paid back the $11 billion bailout, and never will. The US taxpayer lost money bailing out GM.

they were never obligated to… I guess I should have framed my initial statement to say “GM paid back 100% of their obligations to the Government “

you know, so those who are triggered don’t get, well, triggered….

Yeah, its a bailout and the US taxpayer lost money. GM will never give that money back. What's your point?
