You guys could be like all the Telsa geeks that plug in at SuperCharger stations at Meijer. The wife goes into shop and you stand out with the other dudes and stroke each other's egos about what awesome cars you have.

Full disclosure: I would own a Rivian long before a Tesla. I have a relative with a '21 Model Y Long Range. Once you get past the acceleration....there little to be excited about.

Yes.....except it's something really special about the Telsa people. I've inadvertently been at ground zero with my cousin and his Y at Cars and Coffee. Many of them truly think they are superior and that the entire world is looking at their cars. I just had to walk away before they starting giving each other hand jobs.

Corvette guys come close.....but they aren't at that level

They had their Y delivered by truck, as most of them are. They had to immediately put it back on the truck and have it hauled back for a terrible fitting right fender and an interior garnish that had fallen off.

The interior materials are some of the thinnest, cheapest things I've ever touched. And yes, the back seat is terrible. Fronts are just ok

Well, at least they're not doing burnouts and crashing leaving Cars and Coffee like the Mustang guys tend to do.

its like you said, after you get passed the raw acceleration and pretty good range and charging

the fit and finish of the tesla is absolute shit, like the car is just crap total shit crap

the taycan, the rsEtron, rivian, even the hyundais, pretty damn nice cars sitting inside of them, proper fit and finish

That RS Etron is the shit. Stunning looks, massive performance and super high quality looking and feeling inside. Had the pleasure of seeing one up close at C&C.

If I had the money or had a way of whoring out my wife's 38DDD chest goblins....it would be in my driveway

Um.. depends on the trim of the lightning. The Pro w/ the 230 mile pack is a more sedate 5.6s (same as the Rav4 Prime), and only the extended pack gets you the '4 second' times.

The directly comparable Mach-E are also around the same speeds. The RWD gets 0-60 in the mid-6, and only the GT performance is under 4 seconds. Ditto for Tesla, actually. The Model Y RWD gets 5.9s, while the Performance gets there in 3.5s.

All the really fast ones are higher price/spec models than the (starting 38k) Rav4 Prime, but the same priced ones are just about the same speed. YMMV. Tbh, under 6 seconds is a 'fast car' by my book, at least for daily use.

You can’t even order the Tesla Model Y RWD anymore, just dual motor versions.

It's hard to beat the energy density of gasoline. :p But cheaper running costs don't hurt anyone.
