Toyota's always been that kinda manufacturer that's been like "we've listened to our enthusiast customer base, and we've decided to ignore them! Here's a fancy body kit and no appreciable upgrade to power or suspension."

But yeah one of the Tundra twin turbos in a halo Tacoma package?

Still don't know how I feel about turbos in an offroading capacity though, it's an awful lot of heat to reject while crawling, especially since it seems like most OEMs out there spec the most pitiful intercooler that can barely keep up.

ooohhhh that sounds good! ok ok I will go back and read the full article now. And I agree with you I hope toyota steps up to the plate but I highly doubt they will considering the sales they average and will probably have the mind set of dont fix what aint broken. I think Toyota will need a considerable amount of decrease in sales before they start trying to get into that market of everyone trying to one up each other.

This right here. I watch the temps in my wife's Forester XT when just pounding highway miles up to sunset point and think about the oil (no this is not a Friday oil thread) on those turbo bearings and all those twistie, rotatie, rubbing parts (how'd James McMurthy say it about Ruth Ann and Lynn?). Turbo diesel is an entirely different animal with the exhaust gas temps, I'm saddened that the Colorado dropped that option - was hoping that would spur the big Sombrero to add the TD from the LC 300 - wouldn't that just be an awesome TRD Pro.
