The end goal is beer in the fishing boat. If the lottery gets me there sooner than GME, then, sorry stonk, imma be out on the boat.

I’ve got a good job and a pension to collect in 13 years. I would still work I just wouldn’t be bringing my A-game to the office anymore.

And travel for me would be hunting out of a truck and camper for 3 months of the year and travelling in said RV all over North America going to nascar races and seeing all of the US, Canada and Mexico.

There are 2700+ billionaires in the world and absolutely every single one of them lives in abject terror and financial ruin and won't leave their armored compounds.

They're the ones that have controlled everything since antiquity, so it's not surprising at all. Governments are wealth siphoning and enforcement machines for the ultra rich.

A budget surplus to get the debt/gdp ratio in a better place would fix much of these problems, or at least keep the economy okay in the mean time while bigger issues like inflation get resolved. (To a certain extent. Having some debt is good, debatably)
Considering that is a few cancelled unnecessary spending bills away from being possible but 'they' refuse to even come close to actually doing it, should be pretty telling

No more fishing boat full of booze? Although, i think even your updated dream list is a bit too realistic for the gambit

I'll get world peace, a pony, and a spaceship long before this country runs a budget surplus.

Ponzi scheme collapses if you don't have more intakes than withdrawals.

But we'll find out in a few months anyways.

I think this is the most beautifully out-of-touch-upper-middle-class thing I've read in a while. I do not mean that with malice.

I just find the claim "You can't do anything on 80k a year!" in a country where the median household income is 65k a year to be silly.

Esp. when you consider that that 80k is net of health insurance and tax free (assuming a 65+ year old retiree on Medicare drawing long term capital gains). It would be like a working person bringing in 120k. Can you do anything with 190% of the median household income, or is that useless too?
