Why not? Because if you actually towed something heavy somewhere you won’t have enough charge to get home. I could tow a boat to the ocean but there’s no charger at the boat launch so I wouldn’t be able to drive home after a day of fishing. Same with camping unless at an RV campground with 240V power. Bring able to tow 11K is useless if you can’t cover any distance doing it

Lots of wasted energy though. Even the best ICEs have a thermal efficiency of only about 40%. 60% is simply transferred into heat and dissipates into the great nothingness to be recaptured eons later for some other purpose

Not too many charge stations support trailers, either.

And when they do, people are oblivious that that is what they are for and take them first because it doesn’t require backing in.

I have just 4 points to this electric vehicle craze we’re on, I’m not against it but my common sense kicks in when I read threads like this.
    1. Our power grid can’t really support this and won’t be able to for a long time BIG $$$ to upgrade across the country.
    2. Do you guys really believe charging will always be cheaper? my common sense tells me no.
    3. Everyone always touts how far a full charge can go but no one mentions that the battery will start at some point to take less charge which means less miles.
    4. Where I live when it’s -20 below for days on end you never see the Tesla crowd out driving around but you do see a TON of gas guzzlers out and about.
    5. My bonus question at around year 5 on the battery what did those cost to replace again? Not saying gas vehicles don’t need work but you know going in that battery is going to turn to crap fairly quickly with a big price tag.

Yes, that's too slow. I like my 0-60 in about 4 seconds while driving a huge truck. I just wish it only cost $0.06/mile like the Rivian instead of $0.43/mile.

Unless you believe the latest spin “we are in a transition”…a 2 quarter decrease in GDP suddenly no longer defines a recession…ya, sure..

Who’s paying for the installation of new power station? Is the power coming from coal or natural gas? EV’s are still predominately powered by fossil fuel..

I cannot believe how this administration is spinning the recession play. Every economics book in existence defines recession as two consecutive negative GDP reports.

2023... Buy a Tacoma TRD Pro MSRP $53,000 + $10,000 market adjustment. Drive it straight to the crusher. Then buy a new Rivian R1T.
