My Aunt got a second quote for 1700 on Wednesday. The first guy said it'd be a couple of weeks before he could get to it. The second quote was out there on Friday afternoon and had it dropped in about three hours. I had them leave the big wood for me. I took the tractor and my flatbed over there and scooped it up.

It took me two trips, and I had to cut the trunk base into two pieces as the tractor wouldn't lift it. The Kioti has a pretty good lift capacity, and my tires are filled, but trying to get the base as they left it was lifting the rear of the tractor off the ground. I kind of thought I might have been able to get it with more rear ballast. But as I could still feel the heft of the wood carrying each piece, I think it was probably over 2k# in the trunk. So cutting it was the right choice.

Her neighbor was also trying to drop a tree by himself, but his saw wasn't big enough for the trunk. So I was able to take it down and get that wood as well. Had to make a third trip to get it all.

Hopefully, this winter won't be too bad, and I can let this stuff season for a year before I have to cut it up.74D03F27-1B9E-484F-B645-B0ABE624FE56.jpg

I don't know if they are content or just don't have quite enough (mental) horsepower to get to that next level.
Some folks work hard, do a decent job and have determination get enough work to pay the bills on time.

Other folks have that + a bit of vision and business sense too, these are the ones who grow and flourish.

Talked to my dad yesterday, he said he went to visit a mutual friend who is retired from CAT and mechanics out of his garage. He's 83 and still going strong. He was putting brakes on an International 140 for his neighbor. Long story short he told my dad he rebuilt the engine years ago for him and when he got it back together it still wouldn't run right. Turns out the neighbor had put diesel in the tank. He said he fixed it and never told him about his mistake :D

Powder coat buddy just sent me these, he ask me last week if I could help him put this on if he couldn’t get it. It’s his grandpas old hardee bush hog. Glad he was able to do it.

He said his grandpa beat the tar out of it :D

Gonna test out this 03, 2500, 5.9 coal roller with pulling the tracked 10k lb Orange and trailer this evening. It's for sale, I'm considering purchasing it for a farm truck, it has 152k miles, family owned since new.

I'll report back later on results, hopefully the brake controller is working properly.

Good luck! It looks clean and should do the job. Just make sure the transmission shifts good and isn’t slipping.

Good luck. I personally have never been a fan of Dodge trucks.

It pulled great, at cruising speeds 65mph, you couldn't tell there was 13.5lbs back there, took about 1 hour trip. Did a few brake checks, braking heavier than normal it pulled to the passenger side a little bit, not too big deal to me, could be just air in the line or sticking caliper etc.

    Dang.

Me neither, but I do know the older 5.9 is one hell a motor.

That's because it's built by Cummins, not Dodge. The transmission, though:notsure:, may be suspect.

Well my guro expert 5.9 mechanic was dealing with his son at the hospital, gonna pick up the truck again either Monday/Tuesday and have Ryan inspect and pressure test a couple cylinders etc. I don't think there is gonna be any issues, more than likely I'll write a check for it by Wednesday.

Is that a common issue with them?

I’m not up to par on Cummins.

I don't think it's super common but I do have 230k on it so my mechanic said it isn't unheard of at that type of mileage. I also drove with a partially functioning turbo for about a year so it is possible that attributed to the problem as well.
