I swear, some of you MFs would argue about damn near anything, lol!

I like trucks, damn near all of ‘em. I don’t care what anyone else likes/dislikes. I don’t care about the differences between trucks from Toyota/GM/Ford.

Like what you drive/drive what you like. Try it; you’ll be happier.

After GM took American Tax Money, they then took a bailout from China, however that had huge costs. They had to surrender all their electric and small car development to them which ended up putting GM and the US at a great disadvantage.

I know most of you are die hard Toyota fans and care about reliability over what’s new and exciting. But If I had the option to choose between my truck or the new Colorado it would easily be the Colorado. Toyota really annoys me with how long they wait to update models. When they finally do they’re usually already behind the trends. The third gen taco is essentially a 16 year old truck that some how got a worse engine with the “3rd gen” update. Part of me thinks the Tacoma peaked with the 3rd gen and they’ll always be behind from now on. These new colorados look quite stunning to be honest, almost better than the half tons in my opinion. 4Runner fans have it even worse. That thing has not changed at all in almost 13 years and they go for damn near $70,000 brand new. Absolute insanity. Like cmon Toyota, why don’t you invest back into what makes you money rather than just sitting back and milking the cash cow

The new Colorado is on the same frame, with the only notable change being outboard-mounted shocks (like on the 2nd/3rd gen Taco). Meanwhile the 4th gen Taco will be revealed this time next year with a new frame, new engine (likely also a turbo 4-cyl), 4-link rear axle, and likely hybrid options.

and F/R lockers like every other off road vehicle in it’s class? And maybe they can finally pull their head out of their ass, and relocate the cab mount so we can actually run 33” tires without bending sheet metal and installing welded plates.

Yep, just like the current-gen Tundra. It's good for pavement use, with no cables to rust and no shoes to adjust. I'm not sure how well they'll hold up being submerged in mud. Other Toyota electronic boxes like the ADD actuator tend to crap out over time.

One can hope. The Land Cruiser does come with a front locker on the GR trim, but isn't available in North America.

You can fit 33s today without a cab mount chop in most cases. I'm not optimistic Toyota will look to the Ranger and Gladiator as examples for fitting 35s though, especially since the Colorado and Frontier are stuck with small tires too.

They're back to the Chevy half-ton 6x5.5" lug pattern which is also shared with the Tacoma. Colorado owners will be able to run TRD wheels again

Y’all wild. Up in here acting like these are 1992 Toyota pickups with a 22R. Who the fuck you handing down your out dated Tacoma with a minivan engine and a shitty trans to? This is literally the only vehicle on the market where you can expect the frame to fall apart but you act like you can’t kill them. Come on. It has no balls but gets the fuel consumption of the GM 6.2 and you think you are winning. I am not trying to bash on anyone, I mean I have been around here a min and have had 3 tacomas and several pre Tacoma toyota trucks. But you guys need to stop drinking the koolaid.

I am happy you like it. Mine didn’t fail. I jumped off the band wagon after I drove a couple 3rd gens and realized it is no longer a good value.

I am not referring to dollar value. I am saying the value of enjoying what you drive. They hold value, but only because of the cult following they no longer earn. And I get the same value out of all my other vehicles so it’s not everything you all think it is. I am still here because I have invested a lot into this forum and typically enjoy the people here. And I have nothing against Toyota pickups. Just the stance and total BS approach people take at times acting like these trucks are indestructible. People forget that most tacomas live a pretty easy and sheltered life. The 3rd gen is not my cup of tea but I try not to judge those who like it, just the ones who are not honest about what they choose to drive.

it’s honest in the sense that it’s his reality and opinion. I certainly don’t need you to interpret things for me, as I’m fully capable of ascertaining that on my own volition.

It is literally because people don’t drive other shit before they buy it. I can show you Silverado’s and F-150’s that have a quarter a million miles and live much harsher lives. People like the majority here continue to buy outdated overpriced Toyotas because they live and spend under the thought process that this is your grandpas Toyota pickup. People who rave about the reliability don’t realize that these trucks are by the vast majority never asked to do more than commute. They don’t haul or tow. Yes they are reliable but they also have issues. My 1986 C10 is reliable as hell but it’s not fun to drive everyday and it’s sure as hell not efficient. And oh for value, I get offered north of $30k for that truck annually. I have a 2010 Silverado that is currently worth as much as I have invested in it and a 2006 C6 Vette valued $15k more than I paid for it. And I am not knocking you for driving what you like. What I take offense to is this thought process that all other trucks fail before 20,000 miles. Almost any vehicle purchased and maintained today will get you 200k miles.
I will give you that in its class typically the Tacoma does perform well because the other manufactures GM and Ford do not see their offerings as flagships but if you want to be technical the Nissan Frontier has been a way more reliable vehicle than the Tacoma for a long time yet they do not have the cult following.
Lastly the value is not really there when you pay $45-$50k for a truck that has none of the efficiency or performance of the full-size trucks in its price range. You all act like all these other trucks are failing all the time yet I have three Silverados and a Tahoe with years of service that have been relatively trouble free that hold value and perform at a much higher level and have way more versatility. Again, I don’t want to offend or hate on anyone but stop with all the BS that the Tacoma is this superior piece of engineering. It’s just not the case anymore. It’s a midsize truck that is not as reliable as it’s Nissan counterpart with the wrong motor and trans, the frame is a major weak point and it’s prone to antiquated engineering which lends itself to reliability but comes at the price of comfort and fun. If that’s what you enjoy. So be it!

The funny part is in those forums no one even mentions you guys! LOL… I don’t come here to bash on tacomas. Look at my post if you like. What happened here is someone dared to say. Wow, check this GM truck out, it’s pretty cool. And that turned into all these guys having a complex that something else might actually be an alternative to what they have because oh no. Everything else is a piece of shit.

I literally have just pointed out that their are other alternatives and the truck this thread was created to expose you to. This is a Colorado thread, I am just defending it and the fact that it’s looks pretty legit. And thought people might like to know how that power train which is currently sitting in my driveway performs.
