Personally, I feel your pain. Like you I take pride in my new Taco, first new vehicle since '90, and it killed me when someone ran a shopping cart into the tailgate in a parking lot after having the truck only 3 months. Had the dents pulled out cuz I could not stand to look at that. It's just me, and yes it's a vehicle, and yes this is a first world problem. But this is still the first world and we get still get to choose our problems.

 

Get a softopper . It will be covered by the flap. Looks great too

So how did it happen?

 

Here’s what happened to mine bought new owned 2 weeks! Those ramps had been leaned up there over two years and never moved until I parked my new Tacoma there.

 

If its my post, dont know. It was at a customers but I see a forklift involved somehow.

 

Bummer dude. I decided to live with mine. I get asked about it all the time. Keeps me humble.

I did mine when hauling an unfamiliar trailer with the tailgate down. First turn, and I knew “that doesn’t feel right”.

The universe conspires sometimes... I actually got the first small scratch on mine at about 6 months. Got hit by an amateur paraglider. He was uninjured.

 

All it takes is one guy needing a tailgate, to start a chain reaction. Secure your tailgates everyone. They are soo easy to steal.

 

Keep looking for a nice used one in your color, if you can wait that is. It's going to need help, the bent one, to keep things from rusting no matter what.

Actually, when you left that hitch on there for no apparent reason you did it to me, or someone like me, that caught their knee on that POS.

 

I was going to say put a skin on it but I'm not sure if it comes down far enough. And idk remember where I got mine... maybe Mobtown but that doesn't do any good either.
