    Hey guys,

Got struck by lightning in my 14 Tacoma last week. Hit the racks on my topper and travelled down and blew fuel pump (at least). Tracking down all the issues..
Had the fuel pump replaced and the truck runs. Its not missing and seems like its running normal. I'm pretty sure the ECM is fried but I want to see if I can make sure. Here are some of the issues.

    Gauges aren't working and don't swing(tach,speed,temp)
ABS + anti skid + emergency brake lights are on
    Airbag light is on
    Odometer does count mileage
Fuse box for the topper light was completely blown, I had it tied into the drivers rear tail light and the brake light is blown, but not the turn signal.

    Fuses are all good.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start? Figured I would start with power/grounds to the ECM. If anyone has a wiring diagram for a '14 2wd 4cyl A/T that would be awesome. Let me know if you need more info. Thank you all in advance.
    J

Yes. I was fine thankfully. Just a huge hassle. No cell service, got towed 60 miles..

    4 run, 2 don't
That would've been the first thing I'd do; the next morning really. I wouldn't have waited a day extra, much less a week

I had one come in a couple of years ago.
Took out most of the ecu’s.
    A little burned wiring.
Took a lot of systems diagnostics. Lot of time.
Don’t try to play with it. That’s what insurances for..

It came out the RF Rim.
After I was done with it I told him your going to lose your rf wheel bearing at some point.
After i retired it came in 6 months later. Bad rf wheel bearing. Wouldn’t cover it even though I made notes for the poor guy..

Given the potential scope of this, if you're going to do it yourself, invest in a subscription to Michell's or All-Data so that you have ALL the information.

The best start would be to contact your insurance company. They may cover this damage and save you the headache.

My brothers car was struck by lightening and they totaled it. Lightening on a vehicle cab be a disaster that doesn't show up until later.

Hey all, thanks for the input. I did start a claim right after, still haven't heard back from them. I do have Comp. Best case scenario they do cover it, prepping for if they don't.

The insurance company will cover it. Most likely the adjuster is just going to have the shop give them a diagnosis and either pay for the repairs or total if they are scared their is a potential for hidden damage down the road

Kind of ironic given your user name. Had to do it lol.

Sorry about your truck. Glad you are okay and hopefully everything works out.
