6/4 Build Gang

No, unfortunately I’ve got nothing. No app updates at all and Rod said it hasn’t moved. Funny thing is, my dealer said ETA of 7/29 -08/04 hasn’t changed. So I’m sure I’ll be having a discussion with the dealer on the 5th.

 

Yeah my dealer told me it was on a train two weeks ago....."The lie detector determined that was a lie"

Id probably be a little confrontational about it but they're selling it to me for MSRP and I don't want to piss them off. Sad times were in when you have to kiss the Dealer's ass.

Who knows? Maybe Toyota's going to fly in on a cargo plane and get it there by the 4th

 

same here with MSRP. I guess I’ll just have to work on my patience. Lol

 

Me and my fellow QC Hold group(day 68) in East Brookfield should be allowed to be honorary members of the 6/4 gang. Maybe start a pool on whose arrives first.

Your dealer should be able to give you the permanent VIN. If you don't have a permanent VIN it hasn't been built yet

 

Where do you live? I wonder if they ship by geographic area? I live in Massachusetts

Well boys, I’m graduating from this thread. Had a tight timeline for getting my truck and the arrival for the 6/4-built MGM one was still uncertain, so dealer got me into a different truck that was coming sooner. It’s identical in every way except that it’s black instead of gray.

I know black paint is supposedlyharder to maintain, shows dirt more, etc. but I think it looks nice and I’m very happy with it. She drives like a dream and I’m reveling in the glory of finally having my truck.

Thanks for commiserating with me through this and sharing your experiences. I hope you’ll all be driving yours off the lot soon too.

How are the rest of you doing with the wait and lack of info?

I asked Rod for updates on the 2 trucks I have holds on…

The 6/4 build still shows no movement as of this morning. Still sitting at Baja.

The other truck, which will be built in Guanajuato, is scheduled to be built 8/9. It’s temporary VIN shows it’s a week 30 build, so clearly that plant is behind schedule too.

I’m definitely increasingly weirded out by the mystery of our 6/4 builds at the Baja plant. Wish we knew what was happening so my brain didn’t worry it’s due to some sort of problem that could impact the trucks.

Makes me lean toward the not-yet-built truck. It’s basically the same truck with the same options, it’s just Army Green, a color which I’ve never seen in person so that feels risky.

My old car was black. They have cleaner/polish specifically for black vehicles to keep them looking sharp.

 

My dealer informed me that my 6/4 build arrived to GST in Houston today from Baja.

 

Nice! My former sales guy emailed me to say that the 6/4 build I was waiting on is now processing to leave Baja.
The new one JUST got loaded onto a train to come up here so I don't think I'll switch back though.

 

Mine is supposed to be here by the end of this week to early next week.
