I agree. So why keep harping over how great the Rivian is because it can tow 11K? I think the Rivian is great but towing is not any reason why.

Exactly. So why care about the 11k tow load?

I'm not insinuating anything other than most people just parrot the same bullshit without themselves understanding it. I just want to see the math as I'm not a blind sheep that takes things at face value.

One of the chief issues we are facing today is misinformation and more specifically the lack of credibility from the bulk of sources online. People seem to forget what a primary and secondary source is.

You'll be disappointed in how smart I actually am, this info is pretty basic.

I know, but they are still building this plant as of this last month.

It's close to a big Korean battery plant too ... that has been fighting with LG
on patents ... and the White House got involved to settle the dispute. NE GA

Wonder what it gets with light load, my moto trailer loaded up is around 1600 lbs, the Tacoma isn’t effected all that much, nearly identical to what I get in town. Getting 22.5 average per tank. Seems like the in town stop and go vs. slightly weighted down on the highway is about a wash. Have a trip coming up to Mount Adams, WA that is 453 miles one way. Can easily get 400 miles out of the Tacoma. Looking at the EV charging map, looks doable in the Rivian, just have to stop more. Last charging point is at Hood River, OR…camp is 51 miles up the road, could top off in Hood and be fine, even with some running around camp.

Seeing a fully electric vehicle that you plug into the wall that can tow over 10k lbs is amazing to me and I can't wait to see where the tech will be in 10 years time. I guess some people thought the first computers weren't impressive either.

I wonder what kind of range the Amazon vans are good for? Good luck to anyone running a route on the outskirts of the distribution center during holiday season.

Looks like it's only gas and diesel since car manufacturers are already looking at other fuels like hydrogen. Even so the EU might find itself in an impossible scenario getting rid of diesel

Where? Google says 0.5% of US buses are EV.

You would think that they are.

The only problem is when they run low on vehicles during peak delivery season, they might not make the best decisions. They are mostly contactors after all, and some contractor could fold up over night, only to be replaced by a different contractor the next day. Both UPS, and FedEx, never have enough vehicles when demand hits the fan.

I know Amazon is all powerful, and all knowing, but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Where are these battery power EV buses? You seem to throw around a lot of BS.

Toyota lobbied the US government against electric vehicles for literally years to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. They put all of their money and R&D into hydrogen which is largely inferior and they've had to pivot only just this year to electric which is why they're so far behind. I think we'll see start seeing interesting EV out of Toyota in the next 5 years or so.
