    Mornin' Son :fistbump:

OMG is this too easy Eric!

    20220727_192751.jpg

After just 2 minutes you could smell them. There's room for a couple more but I just did a dozen for my test. More would work but I think you'd compromise quality.

    20220727_192805.jpg

I was amazed how little grease dripped out of them. Maybe just a couple tbsp. I did put them into a colander to drain off the excess marinade. Some, barely any of that dripped out either.

The finished wings were freaking delicious. Especially for my first time with an air fryer. I followed the recipe instructions for the fryer, 380° for 20 minutes. However I think another 3-5 minutes closely watching them might have worked out better. I checked about half and the temps were all above 165°, some were close to 175°.

    20220727_195739.jpg

Blue cheese and celery of course. You can keep that mamby pamby carrots and ranch crap.

I froze the remaining 16 wings in ziploc's but I'm going to buy another pack of fresh today or tomorrow, and test a batch with my dry rub powder marinade. Then I'll make a spicy sauce and throw it on with some butter in a bowl and see what's what.

I just did a compare between just air fried, deep fried and Sous Vide finished in the air fryer.

Air Fired - Easy Clean up for me, but took like 25 minutes
Deep Fried - Little better texture, 8 minutes, tons of clean up.
Sous Vide - More juicy, less crispy.

As long as you can see down the road, halogen is great. I'm a fan of white light though.

It's the housing that makes certain led bulbs more and less effective. Some now have indexing to compensate for that.

The "blade" part of the bulb rotates within the body, and it allows for a vertical orientation. Once inserted, the diodes on each side of the blade are at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock where they are the most effective.

Another pitfall is the lack of heat they produce can be a hindrance in the winter if you live in a snowy area. I've personally had some buildup with both types of bulbs. No biggie. It comes off.

You should check these guys out.

"XenonDepot | Specializing in HID & LED Headlights for Trucks" https://www.xenondepot.com

I had the opportunity to test some of their LEDs and they are sweet.

But now you can get great lights just about anywhere. There is not much I can say though about halogen except, I prefer the performance of LED more. Especially out here in the woods.

The one pro about LED's, at least when I've ran them, my voltage would stay high. 13.8-14.2 usually. I also drive with my headlights on full time, day or night. With the halogens, when sitting at stop light, sometimes my voltage will fluctuate between 12.6 and 13.8, which I guess is to be expected. I also have a relatively new battery (7/21) and alternator (8/21). Up in NOVA I don't consider it to be a super snowy area, but it does snow sometimes throughout winter. I'll checkout the link you mentioned though.

The LED's I ran in the past were cheapo brand Beamtech. They looked great in my opinion and performed well, until they'd burn halfway out. Then I'd contact the company, warranty claim them, and they'd send me one new bulb. It's just tiring having to do that over and over and over again.

    Afternoon all…

Been a long week. Between lots of work, the heat and today… I’m spent! Laid my wife’s grandmother to rest today at Arlington. Sorry Grandpa Fred, but she’s your problem now (…again)!! Lol! I know that sounds bad, but you’d had to have known her. Traffic was surprisingly not as bad as I thought going from Carroll to Va on a Friday. About 1.45 each way. Home and settled in with the dogs… probably going to be a Netflix and chill kinda night. All these pics of ramen are making me hungry, maybe just call for Chinese delivery tonight… mmm!!

Tomorrow I think we may head to WV and float the river for a couple hours with friends and a stocked cooler. See what the weather holds.

Hope y’all are having a great Friday!

    Afternoon Darin.
I means, it's not like I went all the way back to the origin of ramen or anything :anonymous:

upload_2022-7-29_15-6-30.jpg (I know, corny, but @Fire Arrow is getting senile and the pretty colors are better for him)

Yea, while doing the research I learned why Asia is primarily cheese free. Which until I thought about it, well, I just assumed the whole world has cheese. And apparently even crab wontons are Americanized (like the chimichanga) food types used to lure us in.

In Korea, at McDonalds, the Bulgogi Burger contains the usual patty topped with creamy mayo, bulgogi sauce, lettuce, and even a slice of processed cheese for that extra cheesy touch. The Spicy Mac & Cheese Burger has a chicken patty topped with creamy macaroni and cheddar & granapadano cheese along with lettuce and bacon to give it that little extra zing. This amazing burger consists of crispy breaded fried chicken topped with two Golden Mozzarella cheese sticks, lettuce, mayo, and spicy Arabian-inspired sauce (wtf is that?) for a slightly spicy kick, and finally, it doesn't get any more American than.........The string cheese is exactly what it says: basically just mozzarella string together in one long strip that can be easily eaten on-the-go or even at home!

    :oldglory:

I also read Koreans started incorporating cheese into their food after the war when Americans left behind rations that contained the process chesses.

I also read that cheese in Korean ramen has been a thing since forever. I mean, ramen has been around since the 1800's. The instant form though has only been out since the 1950's.

I read that Koreans only eat the instant kind, so that sorta fits in with the timeline I am reading about.

For what any of it's worth. :burp:

Wellll, now we have to be careful.........you put too many Drews in one area and the whole thing goes haywire! :goingcrazy:
You'll all just have to limit your exposure to each other to like 30 seconds, or less should do it. And absolutely no way are we putting 4 Drews in the same tent! :lalala:

I never heard of stir fry ramen. I am learning so much food things. I actually use a stir fry egg noodle, like the wide egg noodles you use in stews, etc. It holds up to a lot of heat and has the right amount of chew. I prefer my noodles al' dente. I do like the egg dropped in too. Nice job.

    Fuk summer. Fuk the rain.

Hey, last night I tried the Lude, shaken and not in the blender. It was very good. My recipe is morphing too LOL.

I am now doing 2 oz on the rums (my dark is Kraken bytheby) and I am doing 4 oz of the mixer, and OJ, and 2 of the pineapple. I might take the mixer back to 2 oz and try the pineapple at 4.

It's good no matter what. I told Deb I bet if you mulled a couple maraschino cherries in the cup first and then stirred it to blend it for effect, it would be nice.

Overall, :101010: one of the best parts of this fukn' heat Brother, Thanks!
