Also, paradoxically, this thread *is* the hurt locker.

You mean how Toyota lobbied the Japanese and US governments in favor of oil and gas because they didn't believe in electric vehicle technology? Right up until the Japanese government started threatening them with penalties for doing so?

It was only this year that investor pressure forced them to pivot to EV investments.

    This is pretty well reported:

The anti-EV are mostly those mad about the demise of the V8, braaap sounds, and change as a whole. Which, I suppose, is fair.

You'll see more as manufacturers offer less ICE options and when gas stations are replaced with chargers forcing them to change from gas to electric.

I largely do believe that most understand we can't keep using gas and oil like we are forever though.

The oil industry isn't threatened by BEV.

Feel free to explain how they are.

There is no such thing as a lie. There is only the illusion of truth.

What people call lies do not exist, how can a lie exist if its based on an untruth, or non factual statement? a lie can only live inside a persons mind, as the so called lie never existed in reality. Even if a person chooses to believe a lie, it does not make it true. How can it, if the person saying something is a lie does not believe it?

What if the drugs are a lie that only exist in your mind’s assumption that the lie isn’t a lie?

I'm not under the influence of any substance.

This is exactly how the pro EV crowd will portray the public who does not oppose the use of BEV. They will create a false narrative so they can make the proclamation that they who support EVs are some how right and there for you are wrong for not disagreeing with them.

Toyota just banked on the wrong kind of green car technology. Hydrogen needs a much bigger infrastructure. So they didn't want to see the EV manufacturer get an upper hand on them. Don't forget it was the Prius that pushed the whole industry to be more fuel efficient. Toyota will eventually "catch up" in the still very young EV section. Especially plug in hybrid technology that I think is a safe bet in the near future. As for trucks to take into remote areas and off-road, I'll keep mine gas powered for now.

Wasting living time while charging. The money you could save buying a fossil fuel vehicle could literally pay for your time (fuel).

Fossil fuels are likely being used for the power plants charging your electric truck anyway. Cool factor aside gas is still the way to go.

See what you're saying for road trips, but most EV owners charge overnight or every other night in the driveway. Most people drive 30 to 50 miles a day so for daily driving it's perfect.

Yeah but at what extra cost. The stuff used in manufacturing the batteries is way worse for the environment and difficult if not impossible to dispose of. And, again, being charged by fossil fuel power plant. Buy a honda civic. Or a 4 banger taco
