Taco PRO Owners: Interested in a spring upgrade for front?

I have my fox/Eibach’s off now (replaced with Ironman - powdercoated red), so I could send them in for review.

 

Just wanted to add to this thread for the 2019 and older folks. I installed 2019 fox pro takeoffs with this eibach kit on my 2019 sport and got roughly 1.25” lift in the rear and 2.25” front left and 2.0” front right leveling out the Taco lean. Sits about level with no rake and Firestone aligned it to factory specs. Took about 5 hours to do myself in my driveway except after removing the oem springs with an autozone spring compressor tool I paid a shop $50 to install the new eibach springs on the coilovers cause it was a pain trying to do it at home. Haven’t put much miles on it yet but so far it seems to ride slightly rougher on pavement than my sport suspension which isn’t surprising but I’m sure the ride will be alot better off-road.

so based off ES website, “B” and “C” would be the most important measurements? Since the inner tab would sit inside the spring. They are only 12-15 dollars each so I might just order both 9.1165 and 15.6103 and see what works, I don’t really have the time to I’m lit, measure, bolt, wait, then unbolt everything again.

How do you like them compared to your previous Fox/ eibach set up. Contemplating these or going full on Fox 2.5 resi

 

Only have 5 miles on them so far. They don’t feel as “floaty” on the freeway, which I like. Otherwise, I haven’t noticed a significant difference so far. What the mechanic noticed is that they are actually level with the rears now…

 

What did you do for the rear?

 

Kept the OEM fox and 1” Eibach block. As it stands, the family and camping gear aren’t enough to cause sag enough to swap any of that out.

 

My top hat bushings and dampening rods. The squeak is definitely coming from uneven pressure on the top hat and bushing.

After putting things all together, with weight on the shocks, the top hat straightened out. I even removed the top nut and reset the top bushing to make sure things were evened up. But still got the excessive wear. New top hats are “cheap” but I’ve had things springs in for under 500 miles.

I’ve also included measurements of the existing isolators. Doesn’t look like ES has a matching stepped one to fit.

 

I have a 22 pro. I’d love a setup to lift the front without spacers. I’ll test too. Truck has the westcott spacers now.

Hey Mark, I have an appointment to have these springs installed as well as a aal in the rear on my 2020 pro in a few weeks however I have recently found this thread and am now concerned about getting the install done due to the squeaking issue that develops. I see the eibach website has also taken down the 2020+ springs for sale. Any recommendations on what I should do? Should I hold off on the install or have you made any progress on a fix?

 

They told me it'll be awhile, but you should reach out to them through their website. They aren't nearly as slow to reply that way.

 

Don’t install them. You will be out hundreds of dollars in having only to uninstall them, put the spacer Eibach hopefully develops on, reassemble, reinstall, realign, etc. it’s really sad Eibach no longer has them on their site… leaving those who trusted their product high and dry. At minimum we should receive a refund for the faulty product. It should really be recalled. I was patient but the lack of Any sort of resolution (or even simple updates) is really disappointing.

 

Yah, absolutely hold off on installing these. This thread should probably be moved to product review…

 

Kinda weird that they removed the product listing all together. But makes sense. I wouldn’t wanna put out something that is causing issues. I love the springs, aside from sounding like a 1960s sofa.

Hoping they find a fix soon, and just adjust or add whatever it is to further listings. For us, looks like we’ll just have to keep buying new top hats and deal with it, or just ditch them and wait, IF there is ever a fix

 

FWIW I don't have any noise issues with mine and I've got the Westcott perch kit and these Eibach springs installed together.

 

I’m not sure they’re developing a spacer for the top of the spring and top hat. In a previous post, they said they modified a pair and ready for testing. They also said they only have a couple, and can’t send out to people for testing. So that leads me to believe they changed the geometry of the spring or they grinding the top of the spring to sit flat.

if that’s true, then idk how timely they’d be able to get a new set to every whose had a problem. There are already enough manufacturing and supply sets backs.

 

Glad I found this thread as I definitely dont want my truck having this squeak however I am quite disappointed as I was also supposed to get an aluminum bumper, winch, rock sliders and some 33 falken wildpeaks installed. Now I kinda have to hold off until I find an alternative. Was originally going to go with the westcott lift but I didnt really want to limit myself going off road. Any other recommendations I should go with? I also contacted eibach about it but still haven’t received a response quite yet.

 

You can still get all those things, especially if you fit skinny 33s.

 

Anyone else (that already purchased the lift springs) get an email from Tanner at Eibach yesterday? Looks like they're reaching out to gauge how many folks with this setup are experiencing the squeak.

 

I haven’t received the email, but I have been emailing Mark at Eibach back and forth. But I would definitely say I’m getting more than just a little bit of noise.

 

Just out of curiosity how did you narrow the noise down to the springs/coilovers? I had a little noise coming from somewhere and after greasing my UCAs and leaf spring shackle bushings it's basically gone now.

To be sure there are a few of you guys with an issue on here. But I have to think there are many others like me who do not have any issues and aren't as vocal about it. Maybe a thread poll on the subject could be informative.
