Lunar Rock Gen III Thread

The OEM leaf's are just crap. I have to haul motorcycles from time to time and it just was not working. Driving it loaded was sketchy to say the least.


Installed an Alcan Leaf pack and the Eibach front springs:



Did a "flip-kit", but I also ended up putting the auxiliary spring back in


I had to modify the flip-kit to clear the Fox's


Replacing the springs using the Lower-Control arm method; Too easy!

Please report back if you get squeaking from the front Eibach coils as others have. It has precluded me from going this route thus far...

Installed a new to me Softopper. Added some fresh weather stripping to the rails that was much thicker than stock. I have the tail light harness coming in the mail so I can wire up the third brake light without cutting the factory harness.

 

Is the color matched rear bumper a year thing? Or package related? I'm seeing some Offroads in this thread have chrome, black, and color matched.

 

Chrome is standard on the off road. The color keyed bumper is part of the tech package that includes the blind spot monitoring. The black bumpers are from people replacing the chrome bumper caps with black ones. I chose the black bumper cap route myself and I am glad I did. It provides a little bit of individuality.

 

Looks awesome! Wish I landed lunar instead of red.

 

Plastidipped the stock grill matte black. Matches the rest of the matte black almost perfect.

 

Looks like I will be getting into a LR and black panel GFC this fall. I'm hoping I like the color combo together

 

Any of you have grey/gun metal wheel on your lunar rock trucks?

 

Great looking truck. What wheels are those and the front facing camera - is that tied into the stock head unit?

 

Thanks. The wheels are OEM '22 Tacoma TRD Pro with Goodyear Duratracs. The camera is the stock one that's in the tech packages.
