275 70 R17 on stock sport?

I have tried searching this before i posted but could not find the answer i am looking for. I want to put 275 70 R17 on my stock 09 sport DC long bed and i want to know if anyone has this set up. Does anyone have pics of 275 70 on a stock tacoma truck. Also did you have to do any trimming? If so, how much? I am trying to pic from 3 tires, anyone have any good things to say about these? BFG KM2--Goodyear Kevlar--Nitto trail grappler. Sorry for all the Q's but i am trying to do as much research as i can before i spend a lot on tires. TY

 

i think 265 70 17 is the biggest you can go w stock suspension. i think youll need 3" lift and / or some wheel spacers

 

a 275/70/17 is 32.16 inches in diameter. because of the extra width, you might have to go with wheel spacers so that the tires dont rub against the uca. and you will definately have to do some trimming and remove the front mud flaps.
you could easily run that tire if you did a 1.75-2.00 inch lift; such as with the bilstien 5100's @ 1.75.

 

Thanks man that sounds like a pretty good idea, I will have to look into the 5100's. Is the 5100's for the front and rear? I have been checking out lifts also but i really don't want to lose my stock ride. Do you know if you usually have to get a front end realignment with the 5100's? I got some more researching to do now lol.

 

First thing you might want to do is look at what's availible in 275 70 17. There isn't a lot to choose from. Discounttiredirect.com only has 3 tires availble in that size. The Kevlars are one of them, but you can't get the Nittos or the BFGs in that size.

 

Alright, thanks for the post. i will have to do some more looking around. Maybe have to change the tire size a little. I am just looking to beef it up a little. i really just want a size bigger than 265 65 17 with very little rub, if any.

 

You can run 265/70/17 with no lift and no rub .

I still run my mud flaps with no problem .

Ive had 265/70/17 all its life and no issues on stock suspension. I have spidertrax now but I had those size tires 70,000 mi before with no issues, running the goodyear wrangler silent armors or kevlar to you
