Anyone regret having an Access Cab?

Yup, even the best looking Toyota truck of all time was an "access cab".

 

I have a double cab, just had our daughter last week and I can’t imagine a car seat in an access cab

 

Congrats! Wait until you get to the big car seats. You'll be eyeing up the Tundra like the rest of us

 

I can’t imagine having kids!

Just turned 50, would probably kill me now, can hardly remember to keep the cat fed… hungry again!? Didn’t I feed you like 12 hours ago!? lol

 

I'm sorry but the red one is too clean to be considered a truck. Go get some mud one it, take another picture, try again.

Honestly I'd love to have a DCLB but the access cab still works for me, and luckily its paid off which is the best thing of all. I think the combo of 6MT and the AC hurts sometimes. Having and auto after years would be pretty nice tbh, and a full back seat for the pup would be too.

For me, all family depending. I bought my AC when my 2 kids were 5 and 8. It was perfect for me solo travelling and they had plenty of room. 4 years later my oldest is over 5' and had to go DC. Need the long bed for motorcycles for now the DCLB is what fits my hobbies/ family. And yes, I really regret not keeping the AC as a backup truck.

 

My only complaint with the Access cab is trying to open the rear door in tight parking spots. But with no rear seats, more than enough room for a week’s worth of groceries or a day’s worth of guns at the range.
Used to have an ‘07 Tundra double cab, loved the flat floor in the back with the seats up. Lots of room for two 100lb dogs. I wouldn’t have a DC that didn’t have that feature. But it’s always just me and one other passenger, any more and we take the wife’s ‘18 Explorer.
I do agree that the Access cab proportions look better to my eye, but unless you’re hauling lots of sheets of plywood & wall studs, a 5 ft bed gets the job done.

I went from a 4 door short bed to a access cab long bed. no regrets coming up on 6 years with access cab, not regrets.

 

I grew up with a T100 access cab. Well, it's a 2 door without the suicide doors, anyway. Having to shimmy into the rear seat after sliding the front seat forward wasn't a fun experience, even as a kid. This is the main reason I got the double cab. Still get to drive the T100 whenever I want, though. T100 is V6 5MT RWD base, my Taco is a 4.0 6MT 4X4 TRD Offroad.

The only way I would rock an Access cab is if it was a long bed. Though, I'd prefer DCLB.

 

All access cabs are long beds, 6’ length.

 

I love my AC! Bed is long enough to load my motorcycle, haul plenty of trash, mulch, etc. and the "access" is perfect for holding all my emergency/camping/shooting gear. Room enough to seat my 2 grown daughters for short jaunts, if necessary...

 

This I didn't realize.

I think I might have been confused since I saw a picture of a RCSB, but I'm not sure if that was modified or not. I do recall it not being USDM.

 

Being new to Tacomas, I'm not familiar with all of the abbreviations. Some I've figured out like RCSB, but what is USDM?

Also I've seen OR which I don't know. Please define these, thanks.

 

USDM is United States Domestic Market. JDM is Japanese DM, UKDM is United Kingdom DM. Not really much of a common thing for Tacos, more of a Subaru/Mitsubishi thing. You might see it talking about the Yaris and Corolla GR versions...

OR is OffRoad.

How many miles on the T100? There was a post recently here where a T100 was way up there in miles.
