There is some good info, but it gets kind of tiring.

And that's the positive side of all this...

I can see where you are annoyed with all the whining...it really is hard to ignore it.

I can compare it to work as I have mentioned in other threads but it basically sounds like a "bitch session" from my point of view.

Do what makes you feel satisfied with how you take care of your vehicle. (Generalized statement)

It's mentioning how you go about it on here where the debate starts...

It really surprises me, it's like most Tacoma owners are teenagers, and thats a slam on teenagers, because most arent this bad.

Thats one guys opinion, but he doesn't know what type of oil was even used that could cause those issue's...if it was a quality synthetic, or some dino oil of the wrong type. He doesn't even know how the vehicle was operated either. All your getting is him painting everyone with a broad brush. Imo, 5k is not for everyone.

He addressed both of the things you mentioned in the video.

TBH I could care less how someone else maintains their Toyota.

That guy in the video is a Toyota master tech with decades of experience. He’s not telling anyone to do anything, just presenting what he’s seen.

He also said towards the end if you use high-quality synthetic oil and are always on the highway you could get away with a longer interval.

Only for people who want to correctly maintain there rigs.

Folks who ignore qualified opinions, are fools.

It seemed like the owner drove mostly highway miles and the oil used came from the dealership. He did mention that some dealers do not use Toyota oil, Mobil 1 oil but rather use the cheapest they can get.

He was clear that the vehicle was impeccably maintained.

Well to be fair I think he's based in the Chicago area so it could've been driven in a lot of stop and go traffic which will break down oil faster. It was really fascinating to see that the piston rings will apparently be the first thing to wear out. I think he said since it's so deep in the engine that it's hard to drain the engine from that area.
