I just bought this 2003 Prerunner. Super excited cause I’m 16 and bought it completely on my own without help. It’s got 127k on it so low miles no rust it’s amazing I got it from a mutual friend. Worked my rear off this summer and last year and it looks like it’s paid off. Let me know what y’all think.

Daaaang. That is one hell of a first car. I would almost consider trading my 3rd Gen for that. Best color out there.

You’ll be able to keep that thing for years. Congrats and welcome!

Good luck. Now leave it alone!! Just drive it, get used to it and maintain it properly. No lifts or turbos or anything. :p

My son is 15 years old and doing the same thing. He’s working his butt off to buy a Tacoma (or Jeep Cherokee).

Don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m proud of you. So glad to hear that some young men are still doing things the right way.

Well done and welcome to TW!

Agree, as it seems a lot of the upcoming youth don't really care to even get their license. They'd rather take Ubers and pray for the day of fully autonomous vehicles so they can keep their eyes glued to their phone screens during 100% of the ride.

As everyone said, congrats. You don’t hear that much these days of someone workin their ass off to save and buy their first vehicle at 16. Kudos

I agree. OP, good find; treat it right. I’m not saying this because of your age since the elderly and everyone in between does it - keep the phone out of your hand when you’re driving. Get where you’re going safely and don’t crash that Tacoma. Enjoy!

This. All of this. I bought my first car myself and it damn sure wasn't anything great, much less as sweet as yours!

Hard to work for stuff early in life but it will pay off the rest of your life. Let's just say my sister (younger) didn't always get the same lessons taught about that and she couldn't even pay her mortgage or buy a decent car lately.
