    Goodmorning crew :pccoffee:
Got up yesterday and went straight to work on my Corvette then started tear down on 46RE transmission. I'll post a few pictures later.

@80yotaguy sorry to hear about wildfires.

About Corvette project; remember a few days ago I was crying those header studs near a hundred dollars? Well I found the other package of them that I bought a couple years ago, the bummer is when I went to use them they didn't work:frusty:
Too tight a fit to even get my box wrench that been ground down for clearance in there.:bananadead:

Watering garden now, time to move hose

I sold that '90 4runner, just too many other projects.
Friend upped the price on the welder a little bit but not bad. He said $1500 with both bottles and selling his Logan lathe with tools for $1,600
I could still get the welder for 1,200 one bottle.
Lathe even includes the home-made phase converter that I know nothing how that works. It wasade with a electric motor and allows variable speeds ???20220725_082344.jpg 20220725_081339.jpg

So, $300 more for an extra bottle. With current prices that isn't too bad. I think my smaller bottle was $330ish to buy this little one new!

Now I haven't used the welder since and it's just collecting dust. I even added an extra circuit in the garage to be able to run it, the compressor, and heater at the same time, just not to use it

Long long ago MR Gasket made header bolts with 3/8"x16 thread with 7/16" across the flats worked great on almost every small block chevy.

Ok little update for those interested.

Decided to break camp and head home this afternoon. The fire moved about 5 miles yesterday and over a mile this morning toward town. While my family is what we could think of packed and moved it was hard to know if there was anything else being away. We got home this evening and filled the trailer with water and took it to my dads where the rest of the family is currently staying.

Our house isn’t in the mandatory evacuation zone (one street away) so we left the trailer and came back to our house. Did a little reorganizing on some packed stuff and repacked the car. If it gets bad the wife and kids will head to the trailer and I will stay back for a while longer.

Fire is roughly 3.5-4 miles outside of town right now. Inversion layer today kept aircraft off but also didn’t advance as much as expected. It was just raining a little bit ago so hopefully that helped a little bit. Calling for another hot one tomorrow and possible thunderstorms. We will take it day by day and see how it goes. Air quality right now is 500+. Horrible to walk outside and piles of ash everywhere.
