All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Use on of those almost every day. I enjoy my small forest axe and the hatchet. Their splitter is pretty sweet too.

Nada, about to make biscuits in gravy! Probably ride the ATV on the trails, been cutting more trails on the mtn. Maybe I will take some pics of cutting stuff up. Not that exciting tho, as my tool of choice is a Silky Saw. If you don’t own one, you should.

Yes they are! I love em! But someone who doesn't understand "cut on the pull stroke" can damage and bend your blade. Ask me how I know! The Sven on the other hand, cuts on both the push and pull strokes. I keep a Sven in my truck box and carry the Silky in my backpack.

Getting ready to ramp up the Spyderco mule scale production! New mounting hole location and hardware! Also testing out patterns.
Machine finished, no more hand sanding!

Did anyone see that Benchmade has been going after scale manufacturers? They recently sent a cease and desist letter to Rogue Bladeworks claim it violates their design patent D900,544 which covers the design of scales.

I can understand wanting to defend patents on the mechanical parts but I would think suing people who add value to a product or prevent you from purchasing 3rd party repair parts might be a little over the top.

It is slightly concerning but also not enough information has been made public. I’ve only seen 3 of the pages of the cease and desist order. If you look up the patent, they hold a patent over the ornamental design of the bolster area of the Bailout Knife. So they are valid in there actions against aftermarket scale makers making scales for the bailout.

As a scale maker I must now do my homework and check patents before I sell a product.

The three pages of the cease and desist is all you'll get as it was all that was given. Who knows how many other makers have decided to simply give up making scales after receiving letters?

Whether their claim is valid or not is something a patent attorney could advise you of or defend you against their claim against you. Could get expensive.

I haven't purchased a Benchmade since I got my Bugout and honestly, I don't consider it that great of a piece compared to others I own.

That’s a great way to piss off your customer base and to inherently cut your sales. Benchmade, is obviously not interested in being a part of the knife community. Just buy out shit, wanna make it look or handle better, then I will sue you. America F’ Yeah!

This Vulture Equipment works Cholera MK1 used to be my camping knife, but it has been my EDC for the last 2 years. I love it. I'm in the market for a new smaller EDC which is how I found this thread.
Picture below was from last week, my sons first camping trip.
