Nice what did you use to scrape the old paint off of the sliders?

 

A 5/6" grinder with with a wire wheel on it. Stripped it right off in about 5 minutes a side. Rust and all.

What is a good way to do this for my sliders? Suggestions? I have just a couple of spots and want to fix that and also re-paint but was hoping not to have to do the whole thing. Also loving the sliders bud

 

I'd think some steel wool, then touch up with a bit of primer and re-paint them. I recommend buying some masking to protect the side of the truck when spraying primer/paint. I found some stuff that had a 1" strip of masking tape attached to some plastic that unfolded to 24" wide. Made for a very easy, very clean, and very simple method of masking. It was about $10 for a 30 yard roll of the stuff at a local home improvement store and I only used like 8ft a side so theres plenty for several touch up sessions.

You should plasti dip the chrome on the lip of the wheels to see what they would look like all black, you can always peel it back to it's original...
