So I had torn boots on my camburg ucas, and one of the ball joints broke coming into work the other day. Ive searched and havent had any luck with anyone posting about replacing the ball joints on Camburg UCAs. Does anyone know if this can be done with the ucas still installed? or do I have to
take them off? I know that the ball joint is press fit and I have the ball joint removal/install tool. Any tips or tricks that would be helpful? Im mechanically inclined just have never tackled this job before looking for some insight.

Also I noticed that Camburg no longer offers the Moog ball joint replacement, instead the have come out with the X-Joint for 3x the price $299.99. Anyone have these installed? Benefits? Is it worth the extra money to upgrade to these? I did find moog replacement online but im wondering if i should just bite the bullet and get the new X-Joint. Surprised I havent found any posts regarding this.

Any help, advice, insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@bulldog I forked out the cash and went with the X-joint replacements. They are definitely better construction, the boots are much better. It seems like they will last but only time will tell. I’ve got about 10k miles on them and boots are still intact. Just took into shop to have done because this is my only vehicle and my attempts to remove the broken joint remnants in the spindle was not going well.
