What is this under the middle map light cover? It says LFDI in white paint on it and is connected via wires that you can't see in the picture. It also has the ability to swivel...

Edit: I think the mystery has been solved and it is a BT mic.

Possibly the wire for the compass/temperature option?

It might be I honestly have no clue. It seems weird that it would need whatever that thing is that is also on a swivel. Why would it need to swivel? I was worried after I took the cover off that it might be a roll-over sensor or something so I didn't want to just stuff it back in the incorrect orientation, the fact it can swivel is really weird to me.

I see your updated picture. Mine is a 2013 so it's little different, my temp and compass are integrated with a screen on the rearview. There is nothing on the plastic cover I removed to take the picture.

Rule out the roll-over sensor. Anything airbag-related is bright yellow.

Those are the map lights. The dome light is further back in the cab.

I believe some trucks have a mic up there for hands free calling, depending on audio package. I have no idea what it looks like though, but there should be a plastic trim cover with a few slots cut in it

Yes I took the plastic cover off and then that LFDI thing was just dangling there so I was curious as to what it was. I think it might be a microphone for the hands free calling that makes sense. Was just so weird that it can swivel.

Heres a random photo of the 'vented' cover. Your steering wheel should have some sort of controls for handsfree as well I believe
