I put about 5 hours into sanding today. If I cared about filler, that would really just be the start, but I'm ready for paint

I fixed a huge dent in it, it could use filler, but I'm over it.

Can't be too pretty or I'll have to start locking the doors
It got too dark as I was finishing up last night, so had to take my finished product picture this morning. here it is ready for paint.

Really not too shabby, but gloss black shows all shortcomings :mudding:

I know it’s “Vermont” but you should probably lock the doors anyways. How did the seats mock up? Looking to rip out my bench seat as well.

My hood on the 95 had a nice crease… 1 smack with my hand and it’s straight again. But now I have a small dent lol

I didn't get those Accord seats. They're still available for $50, but I've been chasing ventilated Lexus seats around  It looks I can get them for $200 or less if I'm patient, and not too picky. I can't build myself a ventilated seat for that price.

The snag I've hit on the IS 350 seats I could have gotten for $110 was that you need the AC Amplifier and the seat climate control control panel in order to get them to work. Ideally, you just take the wiring and everything. The guy who was selling them was making a rally car, and he'd just thrown that stuff away.

I would've gotten them anyway, if they'd been in decent shape, but these would've needed a lot.

There's another much nicer set of those out in Berkeley for $150 I may try to go pick up this week.

LMAO... Here in some places in Cali... Authorities are telling people NOT to lock their doors, so they don't have to pay for the broken window along with the shit the dirt bags steal out of your vehicle.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if people were snooping around in my truck, but I'm also pretty sure when they see a 1st gen with the doors unlocked they know there's nothing there for them XD

My camper shell couldn't lock if I wanted it to. I thought maybe someone would steal my golf clubs when I first moved to Cali, but nope. They were sitting in there for 6 months before I finally put them in the garage.

:anonymous: no I'm not, I just know a guy who is better.

I'm a little disappointed I didn't do it myself but after prepping everything my wrist pain was making it hard to hold anything.

The shop I ordered Doug headers from hooked me up with the welds since I've been waiting on the headers since November.
They also agreed to weld in the Cam Tabs and Spindle Gussets while doing the headers (should be some time next week)

Part of me wants to slap a new Starter in since it'll be right there easy as ever during the header installation

    Ahh ok

I knew you started learning so I figured you had just gotten better.

Definitely try it next time yourself! Though I can't complain about free work.

As for the starter, unless you go Denso I'd just replace the contacts and plunger.

You don't necessarily need an entire new starter. (these are pretty much bomb proof, aside from the contacts). I would, however, DEFINATELY buy a rebuild kit and do that, while it's easy to get to.

One of these days I'll be cool enough to weld my own stuff. I'd like a better machine, this ghetto freebie 90amp flux core makes a big mess

Contacts and Plunger for the win, I'll start looking for a rebuild kit.
