Black Nightmare

a can of black bbq spray paint exploded inside of the tacoma today anyone know how to get it off the seats, windows and dash? any help would be greatly apreciated thanks guys

Going to probably be impossible to get off fabric.. the dash might be possible, and the windows shouldnt be too bad. I dont really know what product to try for this job though.

 

Did it freeze ?

Gas on fabric might not be a great start

Gas then lighter.

 

Try getting TSP powder and mix it properly with water. Can't promise it won't ruin the material, but it may clean the paint.

I think you might be screwed on the fabric sad to say. I would not put any type of harsh solvent on the dash. May bleed the dash color. Try a spot that is out of view first. You might need a pro shop to help you out. I have doing detailing in my yard for about 20 years, this is a first. How did it explode?

 

That's a tough one man... I'd say take it to a professional detailing shop, and as their advice. In my 10+ years of auto painting/detailing, I've never come across this problem, and really don't have an answer for ya...

If I HAD to do it myself, I'd take some thinners to the paint on the fabric, and with a brush, or towel, try and remove it. There will be staining left, and possible damage to the seats, so you'd likely have to dye them afterwards to hide the problem. Not a big deal though, black seats in your truck would look cool.

As far as the paint on the dash, etc... The paint SHOULDN'T really stick that well since the surfaces it's on weren't prepped for paint. So, I'd actually take a mild solvent, like dish soap, or simple green in a bucket of warm water, get the microfibre cloth out, and start scrubbing. It should come off. Then treat your dash to a nice layer of armor-all.

 

That really does suck...consult a pro for sure. We do need to see some pics tho.

haha sorry guys it didnt just explode by itself i was the idiot to leave it on the drivers seat and accidentaly chuck an amplifier at it, piercing the can, and spray the left side of the truck on the outside -_-
