Yep it sure did happen with the sliders on. I got pushed into an embankment and wedged between the body and the slider with a boulder. It was snowing too so that didn’t help. My sliders are tucked up closer to the body as well so it may have helped if they protruded out more.

Cool beans. Sometimes you get ridge deposits where the seals start to wear which accelerates the wear(or at least that used to happen on a few older vehicles I’d worked on).

Had to replace the carrier bearing so while the drive shaft was out I figured I might as well replace the U-Joints too. It was about time for all of them anyway, but I was especially surprised by this guy from the U-Joint connected to the rear dif flange.

    Just some stuff...
Just noticed you added a third brake light to your softopper. How did you attach it? It looks a lot like the one I bought. I was going to use some kind of adhesive like JB weld plastic adhesive, but now I'm seriously thinking of ordering a different kind of light that has screw holes in it and just punching a hole through the canvas, but I really really don't want to do that though.

I used the 3M tape that came with it but it didn’t last too long. I put a tiny bit of jb plastic weld on it and it’s held up perfect.

Bent the other half of the lock washer for the inner tie rod. Put the boot and clamp on.

I took my prinsu off today and I’m selling it to a friend. I’ll get the roof trim pieces from him whenever we meet up next. I’m digging the slick top.

To avoid holes or adhesive, attach the light to stainless steel flat bar stock using said 3m tape. Then use rare earth magnets on the inside of the topper. I'm on my second light, and they stay put (even with hard wheeling mine never budges).

That’s a good idea. If this one dies I’ll have to do that.
